In 1795, A. N. Olenin bought for 3,000 rubles from Baron Frederiks 766 acres of land for the manor.

Priyutino is a rare example of manor building in the early 19th century. The estate was built from a non-plastered red brick. Many manor buildings indicate a great influence on the choice of the style of the friend of the family Olenin NA NA Lvov - engineer, architect, builder and artist. Due to lack of funds, the construction of the estate lasted almost two decades. A brick factory, beyond the Lubia River, provided material for the construction of all buildings. Gradually, the wooden structures were replaced by stone ones.

Formation of the manor

By the 1820s two greenhouses and two manor houses, 26 service buildings, had been built on the territory of the estate. At that time, the magnificent landscape park laid out by the pond was completely expanded and formed. The main attraction of the park was the dam, which was built on the stream of Smolny. The lush bushes and slender trees framing the coastline were grouped in such a way that, moving along the shore, one could see magnificent landscapes, sometimes quite unexpected. The effect of perception was enhanced by the mirror reflection in the water of a pond of various buildings and vegetation.

In the wing of one of the wings Olenin built the Trinity Church, having previously received the blessing of the patriarch. It was consecrated in 1830, and after eleven years (1841) it was abolished. The gilded copper cross and relics were transferred to the church of Elijah. A year before, the parish received a copy of "Prayer for the Cup" as a gift.

Famous guests of the estate

At different times the poets VA Zhukovsky and KN Batyushkov, A. Vyazemsky and A. Mickiewicz visited this place. Frequent guests in the estate were artists Alexander and Karl Bryullov and OA Kiprensky. Here there were famous musicians and composers - A. F. Lvov, M.I. Glinka, AA Alyabyev, Mikhail Vilgorsky and many other well-known and respected people.

Over the course of three decades (since 1806), IA Krylov often visited Priyutino. He lived and worked for a long time at the Olenins. In the estate Krylov wrote many famous fables.

Often young Pushkin visited the estate of Oleniny. Not everyone knows that the very first edition of the poem "Ruslan and Lyudmila" was designed by A. N. Olenin. The poet was passionately in love with the daughter of the owners of the estate - Anna. This feeling inspired Alexander Sergeevich to write a cycle of lyrical poems. Pushkin wrote to Anna in the album the famous lines "I loved you ...".

Museum today

The last time the restoration of the master's house was carried out in 1990, since then, funds for restoration work have not been allocated.

According to experts and museum staff, the restoration work was not very good. The administration is trying to support the complex on its own. But these attempts are not able to withstand the destructive effect of time and unfavorable weather conditions.

For many years the ruins of the manor house, which stands near the highway, were the face of Priyutino. Museum-estate, or rather, his team, had high hopes for the influx of tourists after the reconstruction of the highway, but this did not happen.

Exhibition expositions

In the main manor house, the exposition was opened in 1990 immediately after the restoration. On the first floor were recreated the living room, study, gallery, bedroom, living room. The picture of the manor life, characteristic of the second half of the 19th century, is complemented by living quarters. They are located on the female and male halves of the upper floor. Here you can see many samples, including personal belongings of the Oleny family - portraits of the famous guests of the Priutino estate, objects of the Pushkin era and other interesting exhibits. In the park the building of the forge and dairy, on the shore of the pond, has been completely restored.
