Political radicalism: threat or development?
Society is a form of organization of individuals united by common values and institutions. Every member of society is a living person, who has his own desires and needs, his social roles. For each person, the values shared by the public majority are relevant to one degree or another, and this relevance depends on a variety of factors: external and internal, economic and ideological, personal success in life, the individual's psychological state.
So, the overwhelming majority of citizens without mental deviations are aware of the value of human life, constructive forms of relationships between people, security, at least a minimum amount of material wealth. That is why institutions such as the army, police, family and marriage institutions are the most sustainable in society.
But things are much more complicated with the political preferences of people. The activities of the authorities and the political regime always suit the part of society that is provided with material, social benefits and other privileges. Those members of society, which the existing regime for some reason does not like, often become adherents of radical views.
There is no ideal society capable of meeting the needs of each of its members, so political radicalism is not a rare inconvenience, but a constant political reality.
Political radicalism becomes an important factor only when reformist attitudes are captured by large social groups, when whole layers and layers of society are unsatisfied with the existing order. The relevance of the existing regime for a particular society, therefore, is determined by the scale of the spread of radical sentiments in it.
Political radicalism, of course, represents a danger to the existing system, indicates its obsolescence and inadequacy to the actual needs of society. But at the same time, political radicalism is the benchmark for the development of society. If you listen to radical citizens, you can learn about the most important tasks that can not be solved by existing methods, the solution of which involves appropriate reforms.
