Placard 3L - what does this mean? Classes of service, wagon categories

The train, although not faster than the plane, is still much cheaper. Therefore, it remains one of the most popular modes of transport for people traveling long distances. Trains are different, and the categories of wagons in them differ. For example, on your ticket you can see the mark "3B". What does this mean, and how does it differ, say, from the third-party seat?

Types and classes of trains

Trains are passenger and fast. The second, as the name implies, will bring you to your destination much faster due to fewer stops. But at the price of the ticket it will affect the big party.

There are fast branded trains with their own design and superior service. As a rule, each of them has its own name and a convenient schedule. In other respects, the fast and passenger trains practically do not differ in any way. In addition to the type and number of the train, in the ticket you will see the number of your car and the place, as well as the class of service. In trains there is a classification of the alphanumeric symbols. For example, 1B means a business class.

Business, luxury or economy?

A luxury or premium train is a corporate express with luxury cars. In them, passengers are waiting for a double coupe (only 6 for the whole car), which have a bathroom and a bio-toilet. In addition to these cars, there are also reserved seats, coupe, CB and restaurant car. Economy class does not provide such a level of comfort. There are also different types of wagons, including four-seater cabins with rosettes in the corridor. Bed linen in trains of this class is issued for all passengers, as well as food, drinks and fresh press.

Business class is suitable for busy passengers and for those who need to get to the place as quickly as possible. In them you will find spacious cars, as well as a number of additional services, for example, Wi-Fi, special kits for those who travel with children, hygiene products, hot meals and drinks.

Categories of wagons in trains

The general classification of categories is as follows:

  • For the designation 1A, VIP-class wagons equipped with air conditioners are concealed.
  • B - business class cars, and 1B - SV-type wagons with air conditioning and additional services.
  • SV or L - behind this design soft carriages are hidden. Coupe in them are designed for only 2 passengers.
  • 1L - luxury cars, SV without additional services.
  • M or luxury cars - also soft, similar to the SU, the coupe is 2-seat, they have a bathroom.
  • Wagon 1M class means that you can buy at once a whole compartment - for two or for one.
  • The designation 1E hides the type of the car CB.
  • 1C stands for a business class car with seats. It has air conditioning, and various services are provided.

  • 3O - the general car.

Placard 3L: what does this mean?

Mysterious letters can be confusing to an inexperienced passenger. For example, in the ticket you saw the designation "reserved seat 3L". What does it mean? Most likely, there is no air conditioner in such a car. In the cold season, this circumstance is of little concern to anyone, but if you travel in the heat, it can be a decisive factor when choosing tickets.

A reserved car is one of the most popular on the Russian Railways. Tickets in them are cheaper, although the quality is inferior to the cars CB and luxury. These cars have an open type with sleeping shelves. In total there can be 52 or 54 seats in the car. They are designated 3-rd class due to lack of air conditioning. However, as the cars are refreshed, air conditioners in modern trains are still installed.

For example, the modern carrier TKS installs even in class 3 cars all for the convenience of passengers: air conditioning, biotoilets and showers. Also there is video surveillance, and there are convenient sockets for charging mobile devices.

What else do you need to know about the passenger car?

  • If you got a place 37-54, then this is the so-called "side". The sleeping shelves in them are shorter than usual.
  • Places 33-38 are located in the immediate vicinity of the toilet. On the one hand, it is convenient, on the other - can disturb unpleasant odors and the constant slamming of doors.
  • If the car you got without an air conditioner, please note that on the ground from 9 to 12 and from 21 to 24 the window can not be opened. However, in new trains the ventilation system will smooth out this disadvantage.
  • In each car there are two toilets. In them you will find a washbasin, toilet bowl and titanium for heating water.
  • All the compartments are united by a common corridor, there are no doors between them.
  • The top place is indicated by an even number, and the lower one by an odd number.
  • In each reserved seat there is a table (the "sidewall" unfolds, forming a table and two seats).

  • The places for luggage in a reserved seat are more than enough: here there are third baggage shelves on top and boxes under the lower seats.
  • When the car is completely occupied, prepare for what will be crowded and stuffy (actual for summer trips). In the company train RZD, whose tickets are bought up more quickly, the situation is not so critical. After all, the cars in them are more comfortable and cleaner, equipped with biotoilets and air conditioners, and there are more outlets.

Differences in wagons of the 3rd class

Many passengers are interested in the difference between the 3B tripart card from 3L. In principle, nothing: these cars are the same, have the same number of seats and offer the same standard services. However, there is an important factor that should be known to those who travel with animals. You need to choose the car of the charger, having warned in cash desk, that with you the domestic pet follows. There is no transportation for animals, which, incidentally, can not but please some passengers.

Features of individual wagons

There are 54 compartment regiments of the non-purchased type of coach, and the total wagons - 81 seats. In each compartment car 36 seats - 4 in each compartment. When choosing a shelf, keep in mind that the lower ones will always be odd.

In each passenger car there is a compartment of service purpose for two places. The guides are resting here. In some cases, the compartment of the conductors is given to the passengers, and they themselves are located in the first passenger. In luxury cars, all seats are usually lower - only 16 or 18, depending on the car. In the last compartment is one place and it is occupied, as a rule, by a conductor. Wagons of international communication are divided into compartments depending on the class. They can have 22 or 33 regiments, that is, they can be two- or three-seater.

We found out what kind of cars there are in domestic trains, and what is worth considering if you got a reserved seat of 3L. What this means, we also considered, now the trips will become more comfortable for you.
