Peony finelygreen - care and reproduction
Peony thin-leaved - herbaceous perennials or shrubs with pinnately complex leaves and single flowers from 5 to 7 cm in diameter. Refers to the family of pion. It grows in South-Eastern Europe and the Caucasus, usually in meadows, in the steppe. The height of the bushes is about 30-50 cm. The leaves twice (sometimes thrice) are triple, linear-lanceolate. Flowers are mostly crimson, but they are white and pink.
Peony thin-leafed water infrequently, but abundantly - for each adult bush on two or three buckets of water, in order to soak the soil right up to the depth of occurrence of the root composition. For convenience, you can dig pipes near the bushes (50 cm long) and pour water into them. After watering, it is necessary to loosen the soil to help preserve moisture in the soil and improve the aeration. This also inhibits the growth of unwanted weeds.
The use of root cuttings shows the highest multiplication factor. The planting unit in this case is a small segment of the rhizome with a small sleeping bud. From the bush it is separated in July, and in September it takes root. But these cuttings are developing too slowly and bloom only for the fifth year.
Peony thin-leaved can be planted and transplanted exclusively in the autumn season. It is important to immediately choose the right, good place for them. And prepare it at least a month before planting. Taking into account the fact that plants will grow over time, they should be placed no closer than 1 meter from each other. The pit should be 60x60x60cm in size. Fill it two-thirds with a mixture of compost or humus, sand, peat and garden soil (one bucket). In this mixture, add 500 g of bone meal, one teaspoon of potash, one tablespoon of vitriol of iron and 900 g of wood ash. The space that remains is to be filled with ordinary garden land. The soil in the pit will be compacted by the time of planting and will not take place in the future.
In order to avoid diseases and defeat by pests, peony thin-leafed in spring after the emergence of young shoots, treated with copper chloride or Bordeaux liquid, pouring three liters of solution under adult bushes. This should be repeated three times with a ten-day interval.
