Payment for pollution of the environment: calculation procedure

The current environmental situation in the world forces legislators to accept projects that make payments for environmental pollution from organizations. Now there are documents that reflect a certain amount of fees for the release of substances and other types of bad impact on nature.

Payment for pollution of the environment is collected from institutions, enterprises, individuals and legal entities that carry out any type of activity in the territory of the state, leading to environmental pollution. That is, they throw toxic substances into the atmosphere, dump them into the water, place waste outside of special storage facilities. It is also necessary to pay for such negative influences as excessive noise, radiation and electromagnetic radiation, vibration.

It should be noted that several types of payments can be distinguished:

- fee in the framework of regulatory emissions;

- fee within the limit;

- tax on emissions above the limit.

Calculation of charges for environmental pollution occurs on the basis of two factors: the release of toxic substances is made within the permissible limit or within the agreed agreed limit. Also the amount is affected by the degree of danger of toxic substances released into the environment. Calculate the total amount of payment is easy, you just need to multiply the fixed rate for the amount of an emission by its quantity. Naturally, each type of emission is calculated separately, and then there is a total amount.

If the income of an enterprise or organization is significantly less than the established payment for pollution of the environment, then its activities are temporarily suspended. The term for the transfer of funds is appointed by state bodies. If the nature user has not paid the amount within the allotted time, then it is collected without acceptance.

If funds for storage and discharge of harmful substances are paid regularly, this does not mean that the nature user should not take care of nature protection and carry out appropriate measures for its purification. Calculation of fees for negative impact provides for compensation for damage to people's property, their health and the environment, if it was inflicted by the nature user.

The pollution limit is established by the state bodies on the basis of the conclusion of the commission, which verifies the state of nature as a result of the activity of the enterprise. If the organization refuses to pay the statutory amount or is polluting the environment excessively, a fine may be imposed on it in a judicial procedure.
