Pagani Huayra: Perfection in Italian

Before the perfection of each line of Pagani Huayra was achieved, the engineers from the garage of Horatio Pagani worked hard for five years. As a result, the model has already managed to win the reputation of a machine in which the present, the past and the future are reunited in one model. Its main problem is only that only a few people are destined to appreciate the quality of performance and modern technologies used in the novelty. The debut of the car took place in 2013 in Geneva.

Engine

The first thing that is admired in the Pagani Huayra model is the technical characteristics of the power unit. Under its hood is a six-liter turbocharged engine, consisting of twelve cylinders. This motor was borrowed from the Mercedes AMG model. The power plant is able to develop power up to 700 horsepower. The main feature of the design of turbines is that the driver has the ability at any time to monitor the operation of the motor and to prevent possible delays. This is due to the fact that the smallest throttle stroke causes an immediate response. Among other things, the motor is equipped with various systems that are able to withstand the most unfavorable operating conditions. In comparison with numerous analogues, the engine is distinguished not only by significantly lower fuel consumption (18 liters for every hundred kilometers of run), but also by reducing the emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere.

Transmission

The Pagani Huayra is equipped with a robotic gearbox for seven steps. Its manufacturer is the British company Xtrac, specializing in the development and supply of transmissions for some racing car series. Strange as it may seem, but in combination with a super-powerful motor there is a rather conservative and simple mechanism, in which there is only one set of clutch. The fact is that the use of a more complex box would undoubtedly lead to an increase in the weight of the machine, which would result in a great loss of time. After some consultations with potential customers, Italian designers preferred a lesser problem.

Body and Exterior

At the core of the Pagani Huayra model is a completely new monocoque, which is made of titanium and carbon alloy. To provide greater rigidity of the body, composite materials and technologies are used, which were first tested on the Zonda R. The car doors are in the form of a gull wing that ends closer to the center of the roof. In order to increase safety, the fuel tank is completely behind the driver. The location of its location is further strengthened by a lattice, for the manufacture of which sophisticated, ballistic-resistant materials are used. The front and rear of the car are fitted with chrome-molybdenum inserts, the main purpose of which is to provide an optimal ratio of weight and rigidity of the car. It should be noted that in the event of an accident such a design absorbs a significant portion of the energy.

One of the most expensive and eye-catching gifts that the Pagani Huayra machine inherited from the previous modification (Zonda R) was bi-xenon headlights equipped with the DRL system. In addition, characteristic of the brand was a streamlined shape, achieved by combining the diffuser and rear bumper. Particular attention was paid to the search for solutions designed to reduce the weight of the machine. As a result, a fairly successful combination of different elements led to the fact that its total value is only 1350 kg.

Speed characteristics

The maximum speed of the Pagani Huayra is 378 km / h. To achieve a mark of 100 km / h model enough 3.2 seconds of time. Together with this, one can not help but note the car's reaction to the brake pedal pressing. At a speed of 200 km / h, it is able to completely stop in just 4.2 seconds. The novelty boasts excellent aerodynamic parameters, due to which it overcomes steep turns even at high speed.

Cost

According to Italian designers, each year they plan to collect forty copies of Pagani Huayra, the price of each of which in the US market starts at $ 1.4 million. Taking into account additional options, such a figure can grow substantially. Despite this, already now the line for the exclusive car is painted for several years ahead.
