Optimizing the Windows system

One of the necessary steps for installing the operating system is the optimization of the Windows 7 system. Despite the long history of software products from Microsoft, it is still not obvious to every user that without making adjustments, the "windows" do not fully reveal their potential. But the optimization of the system allows you to configure it "for yourself." To explain why this is so important, let us cite an analogy with cars.

Two customers are considering a new car. One of them lives in the North, where for most of the year the temperature does not rise above zero and snow falls, and the other - a resident of the South, where even rains are rare. Although the manufacturer seeks to interest all potential customers with its products, it is rather difficult. Does the car need air conditioning? Or maybe it's better to put winter tires on? To overcome this conflict, a compromise is used, partially suited to all potential buyers: a car without winter tires, an air conditioner - the so-called basic set. Exactly in the same situation are the developers of computer programs, and especially operating systems. One needs network, others do not; Lovers of games want maximum productivity, and webmasters - stability and reliability. Optimization of the system is an opportunity for a resident of the North to put spiked rubber on their own, and to the southerner - an air conditioner.

There are two ways to solve this issue. The first involves the use of a special program to optimize the system, and the second allows you to bypass the adjustment of system parameters by built-in tools. Theoretically, all changes made by third-party software can be performed independently, by editing the registry, patching some files, specifying boot attributes. However, such optimization of the system is too complicated, therefore only the main parameters are manually adjusted.

Regardless of the choice, you first need to "walk through" the system services and turn off the "extra". Although the Internet sometimes indicates that such an optimization of the system gives a very slight acceleration, this is not so. For example, a user who does not have a printer does not need a print service at all. Thus, its deactivation will release some of the resources reserved by the system.

To display the list of services, you should call the properties of the "Computer" shortcut on the desktop and start "Management". In the list below, select "Services and applications". Further everything is obvious - reference "Services". Here the very first candidate for disconnection is "Automatic update". If you have an operating system without a license installed on your computer, use a low-speed network access or a tariff with per-gigabyte traffic payment - then it is recommended to switch the startup type of this service to the "Disabled" state (double click - startup selection - confirmation).

The CD-burning service is also superfluous if the recording of media is performed by a third-party program (for example, Nero).

Help and support is very controversial. You can turn off painlessly. Especially, new applications, designed for Vista and above, use a different mechanism.

It is not possible to describe all the items in the article. Their decoding can be found on specialized sites. Or, carefully read the prompts displayed when you click on any service in the list. The main thing is a rational approach!
