Novocherkasskaya GRES and Yaivinskaya GRES operate on waste

Novocherkasskaya GRES is located 53 km from Rostov-on-Don. Consumers of its electricity are located, mainly, in the southeast of the region and in the North Caucasus.

Novocherkasskaya GRES was designed for a capacity of 2,400 MW, with eight 300 MW power units. Heating capacity is 75 Gcal / h. The design intentions were different: 3x100 MW, 4x150, 4x200 (and stopped at 6x300 MW). Later they decided to build two more blocks (300 MW each). Project fuel - coal or gas, fuel reserve - fuel oil. Today, Novocherkasskaya GRES is the only one that operates on coal mining waste and coal enrichment (the so-called anthracite shtibe (dust, sludge)).

Construction began in 1956. And in the summer of 1965 the first power unit was fully commissioned. The pace of the next 7 years of construction is 1 block per year. In the winter of 1972 - 1973 the construction was completed. By 2000, the gas pipeline was completed and two power units were transferred to gas, the rest continued to burn fuel oil and coal dust. In 2007, the construction of the ninth block was started. On a fully Russian-made block, the circulating fluidized bed technology will be used. This technology is optimal for environmental protection requirements and European standards for emissions. The launch of this power unit is scheduled for December 2014. Three kilometers from the station was built the village of Donskoy for power engineers. For today, the station refused to leave the village, leaving its inhabitants to the mercy of fate.

Novocherkasskaya GRES is constantly being modernized. In 2011, the reconstruction of water purification plants of Don water was completed. The new system will use membrane cleaning technology. Before that, the water for the boilers was cleaned mechanically, i.e., filtered, later introduced chemical cleaning, and now it is possible to abandon it (and from reagents too). This will significantly reduce the man-caused strain on the nature and population of the city of Novocherkassk and the whole region. Modernization and gas cleaning continues. The new electrostatic precipitators are put into operation at the fifth, seventh and eighth blocks (as a result, the purification degree was increased to 99.5%).

Yayvinskaya GRES was built near the settlement of Yaiv of the Perm region. It belongs to the concern "E.On" from Germany. The construction was started in 1955. In 1963, the first block was put into operation, and in two years - the remaining three. The power units of the station are 1016 MW, the thermal power is 49 Gcal / hour. Project fuel is coal from Kizel and Kuznetsk basins. Since 1987, the main fuel is natural gas. On May 28, 2013, they started burning associated petroleum gas from the fields belonging to OOO LUKOIL-PERM. GRES delivers electricity to the Verkhnekamsk region and to the enterprises of the Berezniki-Solikamsk industrial complex. As part of the station since 2011, a new 429 MW combined cycle gas turbine with high efficiency is operating on natural gas. Until 2022 the utilization of associated gas will be brought to 95%. Yayvinskaya GRES is the last in the Russian Federation, which was transferred to the use of APG. Associated gas will go to the furnace without preliminary cleaning.

Stavropol State District Power Station - IES, is located in Solnechnodolsk, the Stavropol Territory. Its power is 2400 MW, heat output is 220 Gcal / h. Project fuel - natural gas, emergency-backup - fuel oil. The share of GRES in the energy potential of the North Caucasus is 25%. Volumes of electricity production - 35%. The first of eight 300 MW power units was launched in 1975, and the last - in 1983.

In the coming years, the construction of a new 420 MW power unit will begin. This unit will be combined-cycle with an efficiency of about 58-60% (against the current efficiency of the current power units of 33%). The block will be launched in 2016, which will lead to a reduction in gas consumption, a reduction in the cost of electricity, emissions of flue gases and warm water. Excess electricity will be sold to Georgia and Azerbaijan. In 2007-2009, it was planned to expand the power plant to two 800 MW units, but because of disagreements between the customer and the builders, the work was disrupted. The terrorist act at the Baksanskaya HPP made it necessary to revise the positions on ensuring the safety of the state district power station. An integrated system is being built from several lines of defense of the state district power station from the attack of terrorists.
