Military KamAZ: the strength of the Russian troops

Early models 4310 and 43105 had such a disadvantage as a "civilian" bumper. Towing "fangs" were installed under it. When the truck for any reason became faulty, it was necessary to remove the front bumper in order to be able to establish a rigid coupler with a towing vehicle. And in the event of an impact on an obstacle or in a head-on collision, the cab inevitably deformed.

Designers of the Kama Automobile Plant took this into account, and since 1984 the all-wheel-drive military KamAZ has received a new bumper, which, unlike the "civilian", was pushed forward by 310 mm and mounted towing eyes on it. Later this type of bumper was used on the 4 x 6 model, but the mounting brackets were changed.

Modernization of the truck was made in 1989 (increased the power of the engine to 220 hp). The upgraded model received the designation - 43101. Military KamAZ became the progenitor of civil modifications - it's KamAZ-43105 and 43106. Both models have been produced since 1989. The 4310 chassis is produced by the AA-600 fire truck, which is used in aeronautical parts of the aircraft at aerodromes.

The Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation approved the concept of developing the automotive structure of military equipment for the Russian Armed Forces in the period until 2020. The concept provides for the production of armored vehicles, or more precisely, the development of families of high unification. As a result, a single cargo platform Typhoon is being created. This technique has a high degree of protection from landmines and small arms. On the basis of the "Typhoon" platform, multipurpose equipment is mounted and any modifications of equipment are created, such as:
