"Metro", film: reviews and description

"Metro" - a film, reviews of which everywhere sounded in 2012. In Russia, not so many pictures in the genre of "disaster" are being shot, so the premiere of the drama of Anton Megerdichev turned into a real cinema event. What impressions did the film bring to the critics and viewers?

The creators of the picture

"Metro" - a film, reviews of which were written in all major newspapers and magazines in Russia. The reviewers noted both positive and negative aspects of the picture. Among the general noise, it was clear one thing - in the world of cinema there was an event. And this event was the premiere of the catastrophe "Metro".

The film (the description of the film will be presented below) on the plot, strictly speaking, is not particularly original: first there is an accident involving a group of people, then the screen heroes are trying to save their lives. Survive, of course, not all. Feature of the tape is just that it was filmed in Russia. For Russian cinema, projects in this genre are a rarity.

The director of the film was Anton Megerdichev, a fan of an unusual movie. For example, in 2010 he shot a fantasy-thriller "The Dark World", which for the Russian cinema also became something radically new and hitherto unprecedented.

The script for the painting "Metro" was written by Denis Kuryshev based on the novel by Dmitry Safonov. According to the plot, the film and the book differ significantly. To add sharpness to the screen action, the writers changed a whole series of plot details.

The painting "Metro" was nominated for the "Golden Eagle" and "George", but won only "Nika" for the work of the cameraman.

The process of filming

The biggest problem for the film crew of the project was to realistically recreate the metro. The film, the description of which makes it possible to understand that the action takes place in Moscow, actually was shot in Samara. Moscow Metro Service has strictly prohibited any filming on its territory.

Then the crew of Anton Megerdichev decided to appeal to the authorities of the Minsk subway. But soon in Belarus there was a terrorist attack right at the Oktyabrskaya metro station. From the idea to transfer the shooting to Minsk as a result had to be abandoned.

To the general joy of the group, permission to shoot was given by the Samara subway. His management even provided a hotel car for the carriage of the crew. The stations of the future screen action have become stations "Moscow", "Borodinskaya" and "Alabinskaya". Naturally, in the film, they all have fictitious names.

The actors spent most of the filming process in the water. It was not always possible to warm up the improvised "pool", so the performers used to wear warm clothes for ordinary clothes.

I had to work and decorators. The mines on which the main characters are wandering in search of an exit, as well as some tunnels, were created specifically for the filming.

"Metro" (film): description and reviews, a short story

The picture "Metro" begins with a brief introduction to the life of the central characters. Before us there is an image of the exemplary family man Andrei Garin and his walking wife Irina. Since the woman after the meeting with her lover did not have time to return home in time, Andrei has to take his little daughter to school personally. So they get to the station "Sadovaya" in the Moscow metro.

The film, the description of which does not look as exciting as the screen action itself, in a blink of an eye turns into a thrilling thriller. Passengers travel in the subway car, discuss their business and make plans. But at one point the streams of water crash through the gap in the tunnel directly to the first car of the train together with heavy debris.

Part of the passengers die under the rubble, part - during the crush. The remaining people jump out of the cars and try to get out, but the contact rail still generates a current and in the water many people die from electric shock.

By chance, only a few people remain alive: among them Andrei Garin, his daughter Ksenia and Irina's lover. Throughout the film this small group of people will try to break away from the underground trap in every way.

"Metro" (film): actors, photo. Sergei Puskepalis as Andrei Garin

Andrei Garin - the main character of the film "Metro" and a pronounced protagonist. He works as a surgeon in a hospital, turns like a squirrel in a wheel, saves human lives. At the same time, he does not forget to take care of his child. The contrast is made by the unfaithful wife Irina.

Once Garin comes back from the shift and discovers that there is no one to take his daughter to school. Then, as luck would have it, the car breaks down, so the father and child go down into the subway. After only a few stations, Garin and Ksyusha fall into a terrible catastrophe. Miraculously the father and the girl remain alive. During the course of events, they have to go through many tests together. And each time Garin shows himself from the best side. In many respects due to him a group of several people successfully got out of the flooded metro.

The film, the cast of which is quite good, entered the filmography of Sergei Puskepalis - it was he who played the surgeon Garin. The artist can also be seen in dramas "Icebreaker", "Battle for Sevastopol" and "Scream of an owl". Also Puskepalis is a theater director and Honored Artist of Russia.

Anatoly Bely in the role of Konstantinov

Anatoly Bely is a regular guest of numerous Russian TV shows. In 2000, he began his career with episodic roles in The Brigade, The Kings of the Russian Detective, The Diary of the Murderer, and Kamenskaya. The first major role was given to Bely in the drama "Delusion", where he became a partner in the set of Tatiana Arntgolts. Then Anatoly played Alexander Uvarov in the soap opera The Talisman of Love. And constantly White appeared on the screens in the form of an antihero. Then, of course, the situation changed. But the actor again happened to play a first-class scoundrel in the thriller "Metro".

Film reviews received mixed. But the game actors were rarely presented with claims. Normally, the audience reacted to Anatoly Bely in the role of selfish businessman Konstantinov. Vlad sleeps with Irina Garina, gradually inciting her to divorce. During the crash, he is in the same car with her husband and daughter. However, Konstantinov does not save them from good motives, but to raise his "value" in the eyes of his mistress.

In a critical situation, the narcissistic Konstantinov quickly gives up his nerves. He fusses a lot, begins to speak bites to the "comrades in misfortune". And yet Vlad succeeds in saving himself in the finale of the painting together with Garin and his daughter.

Alexey Bardukov as Denis Istomin

Who else from the famous actors lit up in the "Metro" (the movie)? Comments of critics and spectators positively assess the game of Alexei Bardukov - a graduate of the Moscow Art Theater School. The young actor received in the film the role of Denis Istomin, who also became a victim of a major catastrophe in the metro.

Denis even before the tragic events managed to get acquainted in the subway car with the charming girl Alice. However, the flirtation of the couple was interrupted by a terrible accident and a crush. Subsequently, Denis and Alisa tried to stay together and more than once helped each other in a critical situation.

Alexei Bardukov in the movie is removed infrequently, but in his filmography there are interesting works. In 2004, he joined the company of Vladislav Galkin and Kirill Pletnyov as the main hero of the military series "Saboteur". In 2009, Bardukov was entrusted with the main role in the adventure action movie "On the Game". Also, Bardukov played the senior lieutenant Garkushu in a series of detective films "Mosgaz", "Executioner", "Spider" and "Jackal".

Ekaterina Spitsa as Alisa

Ekaterina Spitsa burst into TV screens along with the series "Princess of the Circus" and "Swallow's Nest". An ambitious girl from Perm took a risk and moved to Moscow, where she could later become a popular actress.

Because of his miniature appearance, Spie had to play for a long time teenagers or children. In her 24 years she could easily go for a ninth-grader, which was used by the producers of the series "Katya: Military History". In this dramatic film, the actress played a young nurse of a military hospital, to which all the misfortunes fell in the blink with the advent of the Great Patriotic War.

Enchanted Spitz and in the provocative tragicomedy "Fires of the brothel," playing a prostitute Zinka-Hitler. Then there was the movie "Metro".

Positive was the work of Spitz in the biographical drama Poddubny, where she played the wife of the legendary strong man. In 2016, Catherine starred in the drama "Crew", playing a stewardess ship liner, crashing.

Other performers of roles

Who was invited to the secondary roles in the movie "Metro"?

Reviews of the audience about the cast of the project sounded only in a positive way. How could it be otherwise, if even in minor episodes were busy celebrities?

Svetlana Khodchenkova ("Viking") played the role of Irina Garina in A.Megerdichev's project. However, the screen time for the performer was not so much: a couple of scenes at the beginning of the film, interspersed in the middle and the final.

As far as an actress looks organically in the role of a traitor, this is another matter. Svetlana tried herself in various images, once even played the serial killer of Lady Bathory. But the role of fatal beauty can hardly be called suitable for Khodchenkova. Rather, it is more plausible to see it as positive in all senses of the heroine.

Star of the film "Border. Taiga novel "Elena Panova appeared in front of the viewer in the form of a drinking woman Galina, who was trapped in a flooded subway and died in the middle of the film.

Stanislav Druzhnikov ("Voronin") also did not stay long on the screens: according to the story, his character, the courier Mikhail, was washed away by streams of water in the subway tunnels.

Actor Alexander Yakovlev ("Admiral") played a train driver. Appeared in the frame and Kirill Pletnev ("Saboteur") in the role of journalist NTV Nazimova. The chief of the Moscow GUVD was Vladimir Yumatov ("Mosgaz").

Comments of workers of the underground

For the viewer, not dedicated to the subtlety of the underground, the drama of Anton Megerdichev looks quite realistic. The question naturally arises: can in reality such a situation arise that the film "Metro" describes?

Reviews of the drivers and subway workers are reduced to a common opinion that the picture implausibly describes the operation of the services of the subway and its device as a whole. Employees of the metro assured that such a situation can not happen in principle. Experienced in technical issues, people seem to be a complete delusion of some situations and plot twists, which describes the film "Metro" (Russia).

The feedback of the knowledgeable people is, of course, important. And the film crew had to turn to a special consultant on these issues at the stage of creating the script. On the other hand, the picture is entertaining, it does not pretend to be documentary. And if more than half of the spectators are imbued with the atmosphere of horror that people experience during a disaster, then this is success.

Criticism

What did the professional film critics say about the "Metro" tape? Film reviews of critics received mostly positive: 85% of reviewers dubbed the project worthy of attention.

The Village correspondent noted that the most important thing in the catastrophe film is the technical display on the screen of the disaster itself. Special effects to the audience satisfied, and the death of the crowd looked quite plausible. Accordingly, the tape is sustained in the declared genre.

There were also negative reviews. The observer from the newspaper Kommersant saw in the film "Metro" state propaganda. He did not like that in the final of the picture the heroes of the epic could not get out of the sewer hatch on their own and they were rescued by the Ministry of Emergency Services a little later. The critic saw in this plot twist the lack of logic and concluded the review with the conclusion that the film failed.

Viewers' comments

The film "Metro" reviews viewers received about the same character as the reviews from critics. In their comments, the audience acknowledges that to view the Russian film-catastrophe proceeded with great skepticism. However, the picture was quite competitive. Streams of water, which were drawn with the help of special effects, look very realistic. The moment when the floors collapsed on the subway cars, also causes nervous shivers.

The audience was less picky about the plot, so illogical moments, even if they were, did not notice much. For example, it is easy to believe that, having relied on the Russian perhaps, the metro services missed a serious problem. Perhaps the technical details seemed real to the machinists and other knowledgeable people implausible. But the situation as a whole is very recognizable.

The rating of the film on the IMDb site is 6.6 points. Kinopoisk estimates the work of Anton Megerdichev at 7.2 points. From this it follows that at least once the catastrophe "Metro" is worth a look to make up your own opinion about the tape.
