Merciless Russian horror "Queen of Spades." Reviews about the tricks of the domestic vengeful spirit

Children's horror story or the city legend of the Queen of Spades is familiar to every compatriot. To build on its basis a horror film - a potentially winning attempt, it's strange that no one came up to Podgaevsky about it. The film "The Queen of Spades" has received mixed reviews. But the opinion of most critics is the same: it is a standard film project, using proven plot twists, canonically genre clichés. The spectrum of associations caused by watching a film, the broadest one - from "Mama" to "Women in Black".

Mandatory program

Script writer and director Svyatoslav Podgaevsky, genuinely loving and understanding the genre, shooting the film "Queen of Spades" (reviews as one confirm this fact), confidently rolled back the "mandatory program". He managed to perform all the basic elements surprisingly competently, forcing the bored stamps to work and not allowing the viewer to be bored. With the connectedness and dynamics of the narrative, everything is in order. The corresponding gloomy musical accompaniment provides the alarming melodies of Pavel Ruminov, who returned to the horror genre after the "Dead Daughters". A juicy picture among the oppressive atmosphere is the merit of the operator Anton Zenkovich and his "depressive" camera. And the entourage of apartments of domestic new buildings when watching the movie "Queen of Spades" reviews are called the main distinctive feature, thanks to which you will not confuse Russian horror with transatlantic brothers.

Plot

Reviews and reviews of the film "The Queen of Spades" with great regret note that the plot of the horror, hiding behind a stylish impressive picture, do not shine either originality or novelty. Four uneven-aged adolescents decide to conduct a mystical rite at the summons of the Queen of Spades. Directly the executor becomes the twelve-year-old Anna (Alina Babak), after which the whole company becomes the object of persecution for the otherworldly being who has appeared in our world. The protector of the children is the father of the main heroine and the "specialist" involved. "The Queen of Spades" - horrors, reviews of which only do, that they repeat about the secondary and illogical nature of the film.

Acting Casting

It is worth noting that more than a successful hit almost the entire acting team in the stereotypes of the genre is a huge advantage of the painting "Queen of Spades." Critics' comments on the skill of the actors involved are mostly laudatory. The only exception was Eugenia Loza, who, according to filmmakers, failed to penetrate the idea of horror and reveal the potential of his character. Particularly distinguished and advantageously looked against the background of the others Igor Khripunov, Alina Babak and Vladimir Seleznev. Actor's performance of Alina terribly reminded Linda Blair from "The Exorcist", Khripunov convincingly looked in the image of a man in the street who faced the supernatural for the first time. Well, Vladimir Seleznev embodied the collective image of fighters with the undead from Van Helsing to the old woman-medium from the Astral.

First Swallow

Domestic cinema, trying to escape from the author's cinema and begin to form a typical "spectator" industry, is trying to work on entertaining genres. Significant progress in this field has not yet been observed, but the "Queen of Spades" (reviews of film critics to prove this) is a significant step in this direction. The brainchild of Podgaevsky is a real "pop" film product, mystical horror, which, though looking at American horror films and collecting their stamps, has an adequate working design. And in the secondary and illogical can be reproached for any modern horror film.

Structure of the film

The structure of the picture consists of conditional two heterogeneous parts. The first focuses on a group of teenagers conducting a black rite, and the appearance of an auto mechanic - the divorced father of Anna with a rather vague past. After a successful call, teenagers try to understand what a vindictive spirit needs and how to get rid of it. At this time, one of them dies a painful death, someone just thoroughly frightened. In this part, the director demonstrates confident and qualitative work with genre instrumentation. Then the second part starts, in which a "specialist" appears, who knows far more people around him. Immediately a series of "explanatory" dialogues is launched, the action switches to adult characters. The culmination is the act of expelling the demon, taking place in the hospital and eerily reminiscent of the "Casket of Cursing."

"The Queen of Spades" of the national cinema

Judging by the fact that the films based on Pushkin's "Queen of Spades" were shot even at the very dawn of cinema in Russia, this work is very popular among the people of art. And it's easy to shoot - you do not need bulky scenery, there are no battle scenes, but there is enough drama.

  • The first production is the short film "The Queen of Spades" (1910). In the project of director Pyotr Chardynin, there is not much left of the original, only a briefly stated basis. And for the basis was taken the opera, and not the story itself. There is no musical accompaniment, only titles. Stylistics of that time - theatricality, an abundance of makeup. Watch is curious.
  • The second screen version of The Queen of Spades (1916) is an innovative production by Yakov Protazanov. The picture surprises with the thoughtfulness of screen compositions, the size of plans, lighting and double exposures. Actor's play, especially the king of the Russian silent film industry of Ivan Mozzhukhin, is more than psychological and nuanced. The director boldly experiments with the techniques of flashbacks, the author's vision of the characters.
  • The third picture is "The Queen of Spades" (1960). Director Roman Tikhomirov presented to the audience the eternal classics in a beautiful performance. This is a sound film, a musical, based on Pushkin's story with the opera arrangement of the great P.I. Tchaikovsky.

  • The fourth screen version - "The Queen of Spades" (1982). The film is also based on the same name by A.S. Pushkin. All without exception, reviews on the film "The Queen of Spades" (1982) mark a distinctive feature - director Igor Maslennikov introduces the plot of the author-narrator, played by Alla Demidova. Script writer Alexander Shlepyanov did not remove a word from the original. The viewer hears the "Pushkin" language, which characterizes the whole epoch, forming the atmosphere of the film.
