The drug "Telfast", the instruction specifies, refers to the clinical and pharmacological group of histamine receptor blockers, as well as antiallergic drugs.

The medicament in question is available in the form of round biconvex tablets. Their color is light pink. Depending on the mass, on one side there is engraving "03", "012" and "018" (for thirty, one hundred and twenty and one hundred and eighty grams respectively).

Active active ingredient of the preparation "Telfast" (instruction informs) - foxofenadine hydrochloride. Excipients - pro-gelatinised starch, croscarmellose sodium, microcrystalline cellulose and magnesium stearate. The composition of the membrane is represented by hypromellose E-15, E-5, povidone, colloidal silica, macrogol 400, iron oxide dye (pink and yellow).

The drug "Telfast" for children aged from six to eleven is also prescribed to eliminate manifestations of seasonal allergic rhinitis, uncomplicated skin symptoms of idiopathic chronic urticaria. The recommended volume is sixty milligrams per day (divided into two doses).

Overdose of the drug is accompanied by dizziness, drowsiness and a feeling of dryness in the oral cavity. To eliminate these symptoms, it is necessary to take measures to remove unabsorbed medicinal product from the stomach, if necessary - symptomatic and supportive therapy. It has been established that it is ineffective to use hemodialysis to eliminate fexofenadine chloride from the blood.

Pharmaceutical preparation "Telfast" during pregnancy and breast-feeding is contraindicated. Also, it is not prescribed to persons under the age of six (since the safety and efficacy of fexofenadine for this age group has not been proven), with hypersensitivity. Tablets of one hundred and twenty and one hundred and eighty milligrams are contraindicated for children under the age of twelve. With caution, it should be prescribed to persons suffering from chronic renal and / or hepatic insufficiency.

When taking the tablets at one hundred and twenty and one hundred and eighty milligrams, the following side effects are recorded: headaches, lethargy, drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, sleep disturbances, irritability, nervousness, nausea, rash, urticaria, angioedema, dyspnea. For thirty-milligram tablets - dizziness, headaches, drowsiness.
