Medical glue "BF-6"

Glue brand "BF" (butyralphenolny) was released to bond all kinds of materials. Since 1946 this tool is used for gluing stainless steel plates, non-ferrous metal objects, as well as for repairing and gluing metal objects with non-metals. Adhesive is a transparent viscous thick liquid of various shades from brown to yellow. The advantages of glue are that it is not prone to rot and corrosion, to a lesser extent, but still resistant to acetone, alcohol and alkaline media.

There are several types of glue "BF". "BF-2" and "BF-4" are used mainly for fixing faience, porcelain, glass and various metals. BF-6 is used for gluing flexible materials, fabrics, and also used in medical practice. Types of glue "BF" have a different concentration of the chemical component of polyvinyl butyral. "BF-2" contains 2%, "BF-4" - 4% and "BF-6", respectively, 6% of this substance

Glue "BF" medical in its composition differs from others in that it is an alcohol solution, completed with softeners and plasticizers. The medical glue finds wide application at gluing of various fabrics among themselves, and also fabrics with other materials (a cardboard, a paper). In the manufacture of parachutes with the help of this means parachute sectors are fastened. It is also irreplaceable when repairing carpets, clothes, car seat covers, curtains, curtains and other flexible items.

Due to its alcohol basis, medical glue is used as an antiseptic. Using it in surgical practice promotes rapid healing of wounds.

Applied to the wound surface, this preparation creates a thin protective film, under which the pathogenic microorganisms are killed and which is a reliable barrier preventing their re-entry into the wound.

A protective film on the wound surface is formed within two to three minutes after application of the adhesive and can last for several days.

In this case, medical glue forms an adhesive film that does not hinder the movement of the fabric, does not break its elasticity and does not interfere with flexibility.

If BF-6 is used, medical dressings are carried out 2-3 days later and involve the new application of glue on the wound surface. In the event that the protective film is damaged, it is sufficient to once again use medical glue to create a new elastic layer, and the wound is again under the antiseptic protective film.

A wide distribution of glue "BF-6" found in dentists. Root canals covered with a medical preparation are isolated from the contact effect of decomposing tissues.

The only and main contraindication to the use of BF-6 in medicine can be the individual hypersensitivity of the patient's body. In addition, specialists warn of the inadmissibility of using adhesive dressings for the treatment of children aged less than one year.

Glue can be used in veterinary practice, with cosmetic surgery, as well as in the treatment of minor injuries.
