Sengileevsky Cement Plant LLC is a large modern enterprise for the production of stable materials with a capacity of more than 2.36 million tons. It is located in Sengilee, Ulyanovsk region. It is a structural part of the holding company Eurocement. Production of the enterprise is typical for domestic factories. It is a cement of popular brands CEM IV / A 32.5N and CEM I 42.5B.

Description

In the summer of 2015, solemnly commissioned new facilities of a high-tech enterprise on the bank of the river. The Volga, located 42 kilometers south of Ulyanovsk. For the first time the renewed Sengileevsky cement plant, commissioned in 1915, met the new century as the flagship of the construction industry of the Ulyanovsk region.

His work is based on unique deposits of limestone, characterized by a denser concentration of fossil organisms in the Cretaceous sediments than usual. Tectonic uplifts in this region pushed to the surface of the richest deposits of readily available raw materials. Reserves of the deposit, developed since the beginning of the XX century, have already been depleted. However, a project has been prepared for the development of new deposits of chalk.

100 years of history

Sengileevsky Cement Plant celebrated its centenary. However, the history of the company was not easy. After the economic stagnation caused by the defeat of the Japanese and the revolutionary unrest in 1905, Russian industry was gaining momentum. Especially acute was the lack of cement. Merchants Simbirsk province in 1912 decided about the rich Cretaceous deposits Sengileevskogo deposit to build a plant of building materials and "to break a big jackpot."

However, construction was slipping. First, they dismissed the appointed leader for embezzlement and improper conduct of business. Later, unexpectedly for all, World War I began, and suppliers of equipment from Switzerland and Germany severed contracts.

Despite numerous troubles, the opening of the plant was still held on 1.05.1915. The basis of production was two large furnaces with a capacity of 50,400 tons. In a year the enterprise issued up to 300 000 barrels of Portland cement. Laboratory studies of the Institute of Railways confirmed that the products did not just meet the standards, but significantly exceeded them.

New era

The revolutionary events did not bypass the Sengileevsky cement plant. He worked only until May 1921. Under the decision of Tsemtrest the enterprise began to be dismantled with the purpose of its closing. The power substation and equipment from key plant assemblies were transferred to other factories: mills, ovens, water pumping stations. The local authorities did not approve of such actions and for years kept up the thresholds of higher authorities until in 1927 a decree was issued to restore production. In 1931 the workshops were launched at full capacity.

The grandiose people's construction projects that unfolded in the 1930s required an unprecedented amount of concrete, and accordingly cement. The government decided to increase the capacity of the plant from 50,000 to 86,000 tons. A large amount of 2 million rubles was allocated for the modernization and expansion of production. However, it was not possible to achieve the targets. The plan was failed, and the leadership was repressed in 1937.

Only in 1954 the following modernization of the Sengileevsky plant was carried out. Most laborious processes were mechanized. The enterprise has become an important link in the Volga region's industry.

In market conditions

In 1992 for Sengileevsky cement plant again came hard times. The soaring prices for cement products led to the stocking of storage facilities and the actual cessation of production. Workers for months were not paid wages. The enterprise fevered for the next 15 years.

In 2007, the plant decided to restructure. The old production equipment was completely dismantled. In the vacated areas in 2009, installation of modern energy-efficient production lines for the production of portland cement of various grades by the dry method began.

Second birth

After the entry of the Sengileevsky Cement Plant into the structure of the Eurocement holding, its production capabilities increased. The investments made allowed to finish the construction work, to complete the workshops with energy-intensive equipment from the German concern KHD Humboldt Wedag. The enterprise's capacities today allow producing 2.36 million tons of cement per year.

The most effective technologies for the production of construction materials have been introduced at the moment. The new principles of the Sengileevsky Cement Plant have reduced the cost of electricity and gas by half, while labor productivity, on the contrary, has increased 4-fold. The enterprise acquired its own power plant of a gas-turbine type with a capacity of 26 MW produced by Siemens. It allows you to generate electricity and heat energy.

Modern equipment has helped not only to increase productivity and reduce costs. The plant is a sample of environmentally friendly production, as far as possible in this industry. Emissions of harmful substances are 2.5 times less than the approved normative indicators.
