The history of the appearance of a leather cloak is incredibly interesting and fascinating. Since ancient times it was believed that this wardrobe element is intended for protection from wind and rain. Cloaks, such as modern cloaks, were worn as northern people in order to keep warm in the cold, and the inhabitants of the south.
For the first time such "mantle" appeared in the XIV-XII centuries BC. Then ancient people covered themselves with the skins of wild animals. The appearance of a cloak (mantle) began to be used four thousand years ago. One of such models with decoration and bronze fasteners, which was worn 3000 years ago, is still kept in the museum of North Ossetia. At that time, the cloak was a cloak like a mantle or foam.
The leather cloak appeared much later. Only in the nineteenth century was the first raincoat with sleeves sewn. By the end of this century, all fashion designers and tailors created their own variations on the theme of outerwear, like modern. In the middle of the twentieth century, the leather cloak reached its peak of popularity. We all remember the movie Night Porter. It was from there that all the brands that are relevant until now are taken. A variety of products from black leather and latex began to buy fashion and fashion women in Europe. A long cloak, the hem of which reached to the heels, was worn by both women and men. Closer to the 70th years of the 20th century, the fashion image has changed significantly and has become much simpler. Hollywood divas in trench coats of various materials were on the screens. Leather cloaks came to the fore and no longer exemplified beauty and style.
But fashion is cyclical - and in the 90s this item of wardrobe returned to the shelves again. Women born in the Soviet Union first learned what it means to dress in a foreign fashion. They wore jackets and cloaks made of material that resembled the skin remotely, but it was not. Clay products were actively sold in the markets near TSUM. Brand-name things the people could not afford, and look stylishly like strongly. It was for this reason that it was not uncommon to meet a girl on the street wearing a jacket made of artificial suede, nubuck boots or a latex cloak. Fortunately now, at the beginning of the XXI century, these products are not fashionable, the demand for them has fallen dramatically.
