Latvian rock group "Brainstorm" (Brainstorm): composition

Lovers of alternative, bit and pop rock should attend a concert of the remarkable Latvian band Brainstorm. The musicians perform their hits in English, Russian and Latvian. In them there are notes of romance and, at the same time, beautiful rock. The "Brainstorm" group was founded in the late eighties, but the peak of its popularity reached the two thousandth year.

Group members

The group was created in a small Latvian town. All of its members were familiar with school years and were friends. The structure includes five people, and their names are unchanged. Only in connection with the death of the bass player the composition was replaced. But this is all conditional, since the musicians emphasize that they always remain unchanged elements of the collective. Today the group includes:

• Renars Kaupers, vocalist and guitarist "Brainstorm".
• Марис Михельсонс - all the tools connected with the multi-instrument.
• Янис Юбалтс, the invariable guitarist.
• Kaspars Horn, the drummer.

There was also Gundars Maushevichs, a bass guitar. But he died, Ingars Viliums replaced him. He has been replacing the bass player for more than ten years, but has never entered the permanent composition of the band.

Brainstorm Group: first steps

Their first single was released by the musicians in the ninety-second year. And the following year their first album, Vairāk nekā skaļi, was released. One of the most popular and popular songs was the composition "Winter". Later, a video clip was shot on her. At the beginning of their career, musicians played alternative music, but the following years were not entirely successful. Revisiting their views, the group returned to its original style - the mainstream.

There was an album called Veronika, especially in adolescence. Such compositions as "Gardener" and "Orange" were at the top of the charts. Later, the group signed a contract with one of the most famous studios. This is the record company Microphone Records. Cooperation with her brought world fame to musicians. And the album "Everything exactly as you wish" was sold out in a matter of days. He became in the history of the group "golden".

The popularity of Maybe

The Latvian rock band has been bringing to the masses and propagating love for several decades. This can be judged by the famous composition of the whole world Maybe, which entered the album Kaķēns, kurš atteicās no jūrasskolas. The album was released in 2001, and to this day the song occupies high positions, it has become an unchanged classic in world music. The composition was translated into several languages: Russian and Latvian.

At first there was no title for the song. There were only lines that started with the keyword. The song had several variants, and also changed its names. But Renārs Kaupers constantly doubted all the proposed names of the composition. And after a month of writing, the whole team agreed to Maybe. According to the musicians, no one expected that the composition could so "shoot" and rapidly gain popularity. Fifteen years later, it is also relevant. Her text pierces to the goose, and the voice of the vocalist touches the deepest strings of the soul.

History of group creation

It is already known that the "Brainstorm" group was formed in the distant 1989 in a Latvian town. But, as the story goes, musicians have known each other for a long time. So, singer Renars and drummer Kaspars went to one kindergarten together. There they were also in one group. Children are often involved in all activities related to performances. When the teenagers decided to assemble in a group, the reason for selecting members of the team was logic. Future musicians proceeded from the fact that it is necessary to collect a composition in which there would be all the necessary elements, such as:

• Vocals;
• Drums;
• guitar;
• bass.

All the musicians were from the same school, only they studied in parallel classes. A few months later, a new member, Maris Mikhelsons, joined the group. He was younger for a year and had keyboard, accordion. During the year the composition of the group was fully formed. The musicians often rehearsed in the premises of the registry office, they were given a room there. The name of the band also appeared randomly. This was promoted by Aunt Kaspars. Returning from the next trip, she said with exclamation that "this is just a brainstorm!" Everyone liked it, and so it was fixed. Only in their native Latvia is the group known as Prāta Vētra. Also years later, when the musicians began to tour Europe, they changed their names. This was due to the fact that their Latvian is very difficult to pronounce.

Tragic loss

The group was gaining popularity more and more. In the 2000th year she performed at the Eurovision Song Contest and took third place, showing that there are also high-level musicians in Latvia. But in the history of the group, not everything is as cloudless as it seems at first glance. May 2004 turned out to be fatal for musicians. In this period one of the founders of the group, Gundars Muminsh Maushevich, a bass player, is killed. He was 29 years old, and he had to get a diploma about graduating from university, but fate decreed otherwise.

The musician died at night in a car accident on the highway Riga - Jelgava. Now he is considered a "heavenly" member of the group and recorded in its composition. Of course, the musicians quickly found a new bass player. But he still has not joined the group. The musicians experienced a very hard loss, as evidenced by the composition written in memory of Muminae. Its name is Space Muminsh and until the trembling quiet voice of Renars convey all those feelings and emotions experienced by people who have lost a loved one.

Break and new hits of the band

Since 2005 the group "Brainstorm" took a break from work. During this period, several covers were produced together with the group "Bigudi". After a break for three years, the musicians released a new album "There must be something." Produced by him was the famous Latvian rap singer. The audience took the output of the new album ambiguously. Most fans did not like the experiment with the music of hip-hop. Other, on the contrary, expressed the opinion that in this way the group made a big step in development.

Some radio stations refused to release a new album "Brainstorm", but this fact did not prevent him from becoming twice platinum. On some songs, video clips were shot. Also one of the filmmakers was drummer Kaspars Horn. In the video work, he showed his vision of the band and the performances of the musicians.

Speeches of "Brainstorm"

In 2009, the musicians went on tour. It was planned to visit several cities in Latvia. The final city on the tour was Riga. The performance of the group "Brainstorm" was amazing, they came to see, enjoy and listen to about forty-five thousand people. All spectators-fans were of different ages, but they were united by one - "Brainstorm".

Also the band often visits Russia and performs songs in Russian, English. But he does not have much popularity. Tickets for concerts are not sold as massively as in Europe. The musicians participated in several Russian TV shows and performed their popular songs there. One of them was A Day Before Tomorrow.

Discography "Brainstorm" has about a thousand songs. Also for all existence the band released seventeen albums. Almost all of them are written in three languages: Russian, Latvian, English. The most popular became:
