Knee injury: what to do with an injury

Unfortunately, traumas are encountered on the way to us not so rarely. Our topic is a knee injury. What to do if in motion is life: this is our reality. However, careless movement can contribute to some problems. Dozens of people daily seek help from a doctor with injuries: a shin fracture, a sprain of the foot or a knee injury.

What to do, unfortunately, every day experts put a lot of other diagnoses, much more serious. The concept of "bruise" in many associates with a simple injury in comparison with a fracture. However, often it is he who can cause serious illnesses, if the time does not provide the appropriate assistance.

It should be said that such traumas occur quite often and they are mainly affected by two large categories of people - children and athletes. The first - because by their nature are very mobile. The latter are in danger of injury, because they spend a lot of time in training, training and competitions. A severe knee injury can be obtained with a normal fall or impact if they fall on something solid (for example - ice) or hit something with great force. Sometimes, nothing threatens, and suddenly - a knee injury.

What to do to recognize it? What is a bruise? This is a significant deviation of the bones of the joint from each other, as a result of which there is a rupture of ligaments holding them. Such a trauma is usually accompanied by very severe pain, sometimes even causing a shock and loss of consciousness.

A damaged joint usually grows in size (swells up), is colored in various colors - from purple and violet to greenish. In this case, the injured person is very difficult or impossible to move. This is due to the fact that a large amount of blood accumulates in the joint, which interferes with the work of muscles and is also characterized by strong pain sensations. So, if you or your friends have a knee injury, what can I do to reduce the pain? First of all - to apply cold. The lower the temperature, the better (do not overdo it). Cold reduces the rate of blood flow to the damaged area and, accordingly, does not allow increasing the scale of the injury. To reduce pain, you should also ensure that the patient is at rest and raise the wounded limb as high as possible. It is also necessary to call the ambulance as soon as possible.

Doctors certainly know about what to do with such a diagnosis as a bruised knee joint. Treatment is carried out depending on the degree of severity. Specialists at the time of admission of a patient with similar injuries usually treat injured limbs with analgesic and anti-inflammatory agents, use special ointments. After this, the most common procedure is the so-called suction of blood from the joint. Then a tight bandage is applied to speed up the restoration of the ligaments. Most of the time the patient should be at rest. In the later stages of recovery, therapeutic exercise is prescribed.

Thus, a bruised knee injury is a serious enough injury, requiring immediate first aid and specialist advice. The latter should always be treated, because if you are not sure of the diagnosis, they are often only able to do harm.
