History of the park

The central park began its history in Kaliningrad from the end of the 18th century, when it was part of a noble manor. He had several owners, including K. Busolt, the School Advisor, who entered the history of the city by giving the name to this park "Louisevalle" (chosen by Louise) in honor of his wife Louise. In 1809, the manor for more than a hundred years becomes the summer residence of the Prussian king.

Queen Louise loved to walk in the park. It was connected with the name of the park. For her there was built a small wooden house in which she stopped during her visits. Here was King William I. In view of the fact that the city was being built, the queen's house was outside the park. Wilhelm II in 1914 gave the park the city.

Near the Kaliningrad Central Park there was an old cemetery, which was called the Third Alstadt. It was merged together with the park into a single complex. This happened after the Great Patriotic War.

The building of the church, located in the central park of Kaliningrad, was built according to the project of the German architect F. Heitmann in 1901. During the Second World War, the building was heavily damaged and it was going to be demolished in the early 60s. The Soviet architect Yu. Vaganov literally saved him by developing a project of a puppet theater, based on the dilapidated building of the church.
