James Obiora - unopened talent

James Obiora is the Nigerian central striker, who at one time, in his youth, was considered one of the most talented and promising players in the world. His dribbling was unforgettable, he circumambulated two or three high-profile opponents without much trouble. But unfortunately, his star was never destined to ascend. The reason for this was numerous injuries, and also such a terrible thing as laziness, which prevented the player from revealing himself. James Obiora could become a world star, but in the end he remained mediocre, which in his youth promised a star career.

Speeches in Nigeria

James Obior was born on August 24, 1978 in Nigeria. His first professional club was "Kavara", with whom he signed a contract in the summer of 1994 at the age of 15 years. Even then, many could see that the little guy has an incredible talent. In the winter of the following year, Obior began his ascension, moving to the more famous Nigerian club "Enyimba", where he did not stay too long - six months later they became interested in clubs from Europe, and in the summer the 16-year-old striker became part of the Belgian "Anderlecht". James Obiora was supposed to grow into a true football genius, but this was not destined to happen.

Speeches for Anderlecht

What was the striker James Obiora? Footballer from him was very technical, he was perfectly holding the ball, had a smart blow, but it was not revealed in Europe. In "Anderlecht" for three years of the contract, he played only thirty matches, in which he scored only six goals. As a result, the contract with him was not extended, and at the age of 19 James moved to Switzerland, where he signed a contract with the local club "Grasshoppers".

New call

But in Switzerland, the career of a football player went downhill. Yes, just at 19, Obiara has already begun to get injured and did not show the proper desire to work on himself after recovery. As a result, for three years of his stay at Grasshoppers he played only 14 games and did not score any goals at all. This is a terrifying statistics for the central striker, and the Swiss club did not want to renew the contract with him. Fortunately, the 22-year-old was still interested in the latest club, Moscow's Lokomotiv.

First successes

James Obiora, whose photos were in all the magazines a couple of years ago and promised the world a new star, switched to "Lokomotiv" in the status of an average player, but that's how he managed to gain some confidence in himself. In the Russian club, the striker spent two and a half seasons, playing 62 games and scoring 20 goals, which was extremely impressive in comparison with his previous results, but not good enough for Lokomotiv.

Leases

In 2003, a 24-year-old football player was sent to the Spanish "Cadiz", where he played 17 matches and scored two goals. The rent seemed to work, and Obiora took up his mind, but not for long. And the fans did not have time to blink, as in the winter of 2005 Obior again went on lease, but this time to the French "Nyor", where he played 12 matches, scoring twice as much as in "Cadiz", but still not so And a lot. It was finally clear that Obior had missed his last chance - Lokomotiv refused to renew his contract with him, and James, as a free agent, moved to the Austrian GAK.

The final decline

That's how I missed my talent James Obior. The career of the football player went downhill, and he was no longer in demand by the leading clubs in Europe, as it could have happened, if not for his natural laziness, as well as his propensity for trauma.

The 26-year-old started his performances for "Sack" not in the best way and eventually played in just five games, having remained without goals scored. The contract with him was terminated, but then came the very "Nyor", who decided to give the Nigerian a second chance. Alas, Obiar though played quite often - 16 matches for the year, but was able to hit the opponent's gate only twice. A year later he went to his home, the club "Kaduna", for which he also spent only a season - played in 23 games and scored one goal.

In 2008, the 29-year-old made his last attempt - he signed a contract with the French club "Toulon", but again failed, having played because of injury only 11 matches and scoring two goals in them. Thirty-year-old player took a rather difficult decision for himself - he decided to end his football career here and now, without trying anywhere else to get accustomed.

So the journey of one of the most talented young football players in the world ended, and as a result of a useless forward, unable to score enough goals, to stay in at least one club for longer than a year.

National team appearances

During the rise of Obiora, when he performed in the "Locomotive", the coach of the Nigerian national football team noticed a young football player, who seems to have begun to find the ground under his feet. Obiore was issued a carte blanche - he received a direct ticket to the 2002 World Cup. In the group, the Nigerians lost their first two matches, then in the third match, in which for them nothing was being decided, Obiora got a chance and went on the field to play against the English. The match ended in a goalless draw, and James could not score at the World Cup. He also held two friendly games for the national team, one of which scored one goal, but on this his practice with the Nigerian national team was over.
