Ivanov Sergey Anatolyevich: biography of the children's writer

In the professional literature, the children's writer Sergei Anatoly Ivanov was remembered as the creator of school stories. All his works are filled with kindness and warmth. Eduard Uspensky highly appreciated the author's work and called it "Dostoyevsky's Childhood." But, unlike him, Ivanov's works were extremely light, although a bit sad. It was precisely such psychological and thoughtful creations that were created by Ivanov Sergey Anatolyevich.

Biography of the writer

Ivanov was a unique children's writer, Soviet poet and screenwriter. He was born in 1941 on July 17 in Moscow. He studied well, after school he entered the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute named after V.I. Lenin at the Faculty of Defectology. Already in the institute years he showed a craving for literature. He takes an active part in the publication of the student wall newspaper. He writes reviews to works, publishes poems of his own composition and parodies of other people's creations. As Sergei Anatolyevich liked to joke later, it was participation in the publication of the wall newspaper that was a real test of his literary talent, it was a kind of litinstitution.

As his friends recall, Sergei was a very kind, vulnerable and shy person, even when he became famous.

After graduating from the institute, as before, it was supposed that he got to work in a specialty in a provincial town. It was thanks to the experience of working in the school for children with a speech defect that he learned a lot, which later became useful in his work.

First publications

The very first works, published by Ivanov Sergey Anatolyevich, were small children's stories and poems of his own composition. He was published in children's magazines. At this time he was the secretary of the Central Committee, from where they sent the novice writer to work in children's printed journals. The most famous at that time were "Bonfire", "Murzilka" and "Pioneer".

In 1971, he published his first book - a collection of children's poems called "Forest Workshop", which was highly appreciated by teachers and critics. It is from this time he decides to write only for children and for children.

Professionalism of Ivanov

Literary professionalism came to the author when he was thirty, after releasing the collection of stories "Bread and Snow", published in 1973 by the publishing house "Children's Literature." However, the first book, which the author published, was a collection of poems for children called "Kid". The main part of his works are stories about nature and animals. These are works that fully correspond to the canons of traditional Russian prose. Wisdom and warmth of stories, as well as their lyricism and imagery, are reminiscent of the works of Yu. Koval and M. Prishvin.

The author is trying to convey to the reader the idea that people are responsible for all life on Earth, teaches them to love and appreciate it. It shows the inseparability of man and nature, the role of nature in the life of man, and also man in nature. Such works were written by Sergei Anatolyevich Ivanov. The writer tries to convey his creations to the reader that he has an amazing opportunity to enjoy and admire nature and animals and it is necessary to do this here and now, without postponing for later.

In addition to stories about nature, the collection contained works about schoolchildren and children. The book was very popular with small readers and received positive reviews from literary critics. The author himself liked to say that the book should not be like in life, books are needed to make them brighter, louder, more fun. It was such works that Ivanov created, they were fascinating, thoughtful and at the same time lyrical. The most famous and beloved were the novels: "In an Endless Forest", "The Former Bulka and His Daughter", "There's No One Among Us", "The Thirteenth Year of Life", "Olga Yakovleva" and others.

Deserved popularity

Only after the publication of the novel "Olga Yakovleva" the next morning did Ivanov Sergey Anatolyevich become famous. The author's books were sold out from bookshelves, and in literary circles he decided on his credo as author of "school novels."

At this time, and these were the 60s - 70s, when he began to be printed as a professional author, such well-known writers as V.Zheleznikov, A.Aleksin and Y.Yakovlev actively worked in this genre. Ivanov Sergey Anatolyevich, although much younger and had less literary experience, nevertheless managed to occupy a worthy place in this row of honored masters.

Instructive creativity

In his works, Ivanov was able to preserve a clean and high note, which is a red line in the works of Kassil and Gaidar, but with his own intonation. This intonation is both lyrical and comical-ironic. Not many works to this day address such serious issues, and communicate with adolescents on adult topics, and talk about problems that can affect not only adults, describe real life. Ivanov Sergey Anatolyevich is from such writers. He, like no other, could feel and understand teenagers with their unstable and aggressive behavior, reluctance to put up with injustice and the desire to improve relations in the family.

The protagonist of the work

The main characters of his novels are teenagers of the 70s - the middle of the 90s. Despite the fact that a lot of time has passed since these times, their conflicts and problems are actual to this day. In those days, parents changed their traditional attitude to the child. Their attitude towards children was no longer so cordial and warm, but more formal.

Unfortunately, all these problems are relevant to this day. That is why the stories of Sergei Ivanov, as before, sound modern. The main theme of his books are the most complex personal relationships with the collective, an adult and a child, he writes about the first love and keen desire for justice. They were unique, bright and at the same time extremely lyrical works.

Ivanov is a screenwriter

In addition to literature, Ivanov Sergey Anatolyevich also wrote scripts for animation films and feature films. The most famous of his animated film is the series "Lost and Found", which is very fond of the young spectator, as well as "Dunno on the Moon." Sergei Ivanov wrote a large number of scenarios, but the rest remain less known.

"Last year's snow fell"

Perhaps the most famous of his work as a screenwriter remains to this day the creation of the cartoon "Last year's snow fell." The cartoon is made in the style of plasticine animation. Ivanov worked on it together with Alexander Tatarsky, who was already known as the creator of such plasticine animations. For their creation the creators had to compete fairly. The cartoon was strictly censored, literally for every word the authors had to argue with critics. Practically in every expression there was a hidden political hint. The harmless and ridiculous replicas of the protagonist seemed to them a terrible sedition. A lot of scenes were cut from the cartoon, some expressions of the protagonist were re-sounded, but despite this, the world saw a real masterpiece, and replicas of the cartoon simply scattered to quote.

Heavy period

Difficult for the author was the second half of the 90-ies. This was a new stage in Ivanov's life. Commercial relations and the labor market dictated their laws, and he demanded completely different literature. During this period, the author creates adaptations to famous foreign tales, as well as a large number of detective stories for children. The creator of the works condescendingly treated his new works, but he was so subtle in the psychology of his potential reader that he created works that simply could not be torn off. The books were unexpected and witty.

In the same turning-90s Ivanov and Roman Sef conduct seminars of writers who created for children, which were held at the Literary Institute . Gorky. It is noteworthy that thanks to this seminar, a large number of writers writing for toddlers and teenagers were formed. Among them was even the laureate of the international prize of Janusz Korczak, Oleg Kurguzov.

Unfortunately, in 1999, on December 4, the life of Sergei Ivanov was tragically cut short. The writer got under the train. Ivanov Sergey Anatolyevich is buried in the town of Pushkino in the Novo-Derevenskoye cemetery. The photo on the monument will remind of a young writer who has worked his whole life only for children.

To date, published and known for more than 50 works, which Ivanov wrote Sergei Anatolyevich. The personal life of the writer remains to this day a great mystery. It is almost impossible to find any information about his family.
