Semi-submersible

Installation of a fecal pump can be very diverse. Simpler models consumers install independently in accordance with the recommendations specified in the instruction, and installation of non-standard and complex devices should preferably be entrusted to specialists.

Fixed mounting

Pumping equipment of this type is operated in a stationary mode if pumping of sewage into a septic tank located in accordance with sanitary standards is required, at a distance from the residential house not less than 15 meters from the water well - at least 50 meters.

Another application of the pump is the need for forced pumping out of drains into the main sewage system, when the system is located above the level of the house, and the outflow of sewage is impossible naturally. In both cases, to ensure the operation of the sewerage system, it is required to install a fecal pump in the well.

Preparatory work

To install the fecal, a receiving well of 50x50x50 cm size is needed. The optimum capacity of the well should be no less than the average daily discharge volume, taking into account the number of people living in the house, but not more than 5 meters in depth.

If the installation of a fecal pump at a dacha or private house is provided in the soil, then the walls and the floor should be concreted and provide a reliable waterproofing. To avoid unpleasant odors, the top cover must also be made sealed.

As a receiving well, it is very convenient to use a plastic container installed deep in the ground and ensuring the inflow of sewage naturally. Installation of the fecal pump in the well should proceed as follows: in the upper part of the well, there must be an inlet pipeline that will provide a filling of at least 40 cm. The outlet pipeline must be withdrawn to the top of the well or wall, everything depends on the location of the sewer or septic tank . The diameter of the outlet piping should not be less than the outlet of the pump set.

If the distance to the central sewerage or septic tank is too large and is at the limit of the possibilities of the equipment used, the pipeline should be laid as straight as possible, avoiding turns and bends or making them rounded and smooth.

Installation of a fecal pump by one's own hands

The installation of the fecal pump is simple and affordable. Any master, who has some skills in working with tools and mechanisms, is able to install a fecal pump for cesspools. And not only. Once the well is completed, a pump set should be installed on its bottom. The metal supports provided by the design will provide a minimum clearance between the intake port and the bottom of the well. For more reliable operation, the pump casing can be suspended on a sturdy torso or placed on a supporting structure.

Specialists do not recommend the use of a flexible hose as a discharge pipe - this can lead to clogging during prolonged use. The most optimal option will be a PVC pipe with a diameter of 63 or 75 mm, pumped to the pump equipment without sealing the connections.

To prevent backfilling of the liquid, after the device is disconnected, the non-return valve cuts into the pipeline. The possibility of preservation of the sewage system is provided by a shut-off valve, which is mounted in the pipeline behind the check valve. With a long-term absence in the owner's house, the valve closes, which allows cutting off the faecal pump for cesspools from external sewage. The discharge pipeline must be carefully insulated to ensure reliable operation in winter.

Electrical connection

The pump unit is connected via an electrical panel, which must be equipped with all necessary protective devices. For example, an automatic circuit breaker monitoring the occurrence of a leakage current and a short-circuit current, as well as grounding, control panel and protection to forcibly turn off and on the pump, if necessary.

To ensure the normal operation of the sewage system in case of emergency power outage, it is recommended to purchase a diesel or gasoline generator of the appropriate capacity.

Commissioning works

When a faecal pump with a chopper (or without a chopper) is fully installed, power is connected, a piping system is installed, a test of the equipment should be carried out and the level of operation of the float switch should be set.

The tank is filled with clean water, to begin with, the level should be minimum, the cut-off point is determined by the float sensor. Further, the water is filled up to the level of the sensor that is required to start the pump.

Trial run allows you to determine the operability of the installed sewage system. If any malfunctions are found in the operation of the equipment, they can be safely eliminated at this stage. If the test passes without remarks, the receiving well should be hermetically sealed. From that moment the system can be used without any restrictions.
