Hyacinth fades. What to do next?

Hyacinth is an onion garden flower that blooms one of the first. The color of the inflorescence can be varied - from white to dark violet and even black. Cultivation of hyacinths is possible both in the garden and at home in a flower pot. In the wild, this bright flower grows in the areas of the Middle East and the Mediterranean. There are more than 30 species of wild hyacinths.

The removal of hyacinths at home is not a problem. Very often on the eve of the women's day on March 8, you can meet in flower shops already blooming hyacinths. But they can be grown at home and independently. If you want to receive a flowering plant for the holiday, you must drop it in the last days of December. For the forcing of a bulb it is necessary to select the largest, full-weight, not damaged. In the pot, which will grow hyacinth, there must be a hole. At the bottom it is necessary to pour the drainage - it can be expanded clay or any small pebbles, then there is a layer of sand and then a nutritional mixture, you can buy it in the store or cook yourself. For this purpose, a soddy land - 2 parts, peat or humus - 2 parts and 1 part sand. To the soil mixture hyacinths are unpretentious and can grow in any. It will be good if in the soil for the flower you add a few granules of superphosphate, then by March 8 you will get a magnificent bloom. From the nutrient substrate the bulb should look 2-3 cm. Hyacinths do not like dry air and high temperature. The most optimal temperature regime for them is 15-18 degrees. Watering should be moderate, they do not like waterlogging.

After flowering

So, the hyacinth has faded. What to do next? Everything is very simple. When the leaves near the flower Dry, you need to carefully dig the bulbs, if it grew in the garden. Further they must be well dried and stored in a dry place before embarkation in the ground. If the bulbs are not scooped out, they will bloom worse next year. If at home the hyacinth has faded, what should I do with it? There are several options. You can just throw a bulb, and next year buy a new one.

But we are not looking for easy ways and we will keep it for further flowering. Hyacinth after flowering should continue to water, preliminarily cutting the peduncles and retaining the leaves. Watering continues until the flower has dried all the leaves. During this time the bulb will recover, gain new strength and grow up a little. Further, the bulb is shaken out of the pot and dried well. In autumn it can be planted in the open ground. The bulb that was used for distilling the house, it is better not to take it for reuse at home. Its flowering will be meager, and if you plant such a flower in the garden, then it will gain strength there. Such bulbs can be alternated: a year of forcing a house, two years in the garden. Hyacinth bulbs can live more than 10 years. Hyacinth fades, what to do next, we figured out, now we'll deal with the children.

Reproduction by children

Hyacinth does not readily breed, but sometimes after flowering, it forms babies. They need to be carefully separated and planted in an open ground together with full-blown bulbs. Such offspring will only blossom for 4-5 years. But you can help bulbs form children. Let's figure it out in order. Hyacinth fades. What to do next? After the bulb is dug up and dried, on its bottom clean and rubbed with alcohol knife you need to make a cross-cut. After each next bulb, the knife must be treated with alcohol. When such incisions dry up, the bulbs are laid down in a dry down in cardboard boxes. So keep until September, by this time on each bulb is formed by 5 or more children. Propagating hyacinths with seeds does not make sense, so they do it only when selecting these flowers.
