How to repair a Windows 7 system

As you know, unfortunately the "Windows" operating systems of the Windows family do not differ by high stability in operation. It is they who are most exposed to viruses or malware, as well as to unforeseen malfunctions, which often leads to extremely sad consequences, when system loading becomes impossible. And Windows 7 is no exception. This will help create a recovery disc for Windows 7. How to do this in several ways, we now consider.

Windows 7 Startup Issues

As for the reasons that can affect the performance of Windows 7, there can be a lot of them. Despite the fact that of all OSes of this family the "seven" is one of the most stable and protected, nevertheless, and it is not immune from such cases.

Speaking of download problems, they can be divided into two main categories: software failures of the OS itself and hard disk failures, including system errors. Quite often such situations are connected, for example, with virus attacks, the influence of malicious codes, incorrect termination of work, HDD overheating, unexpected power outages, which can even cause physical damage to the hard drive when it is closed, etc., etc.

But now we are going to talk about how to create a recovery disc for Windows 7. In most cases, fixing software crashes and helps to eliminate many problems, even when automatic system recovery from a control point is impossible (in Windows 7, this is very common and is associated with Errors on the hard disk or in the partition where the operating system is installed).

Using the Windows 7 Recovery Disc

Now a moment of patience. Before you go directly to solving the issues of creating a recovery disc Windows 7, a few words about its use. The matter is that when you boot from such a disk (or flash drive), all the saved parameters, drivers, programs, etc., are loaded not from the hard drive, since the system present on it does not have the download priority.

To properly use the Windows 7 recovery disc in BIOS settings, you must specify that the first bootable device is a CD / DVD media or a USB stick. This option is selected in the Boot Sequence (Boot Device Priority) section of the First Boot Device line.

Note: if the priority device is a flash drive, it must already be inserted into the corresponding USB port before turning on the computer.

Where to begin?

So, let's get started. It's worth mentioning that many users do not bother with creating the Windows 7 recovery disc, preferring to use the original installation or recovery kit.

On the one hand, this is a fairly simple solution, but it is suitable either for installing the system from scratch, or for accessing the Recovery Console (if one exists on the disk). The problem is that not all users know how to use it. This is where the manually created disk comes in handy, especially since with its use it is possible to restore not only the system, but also the data from the hard drive.

Windows 7 Recovery Boot Disk

There are several ways to create a bootable disk. First, let's look at the standard tools of the Windows operating system itself.

The first and most simple method is the use of the "Control Panel", in which the "Backup and Restore" section is selected. In this section, you must select the line "Create a system recovery disk", then you will be prompted to select the device as a bootable tool (optical drive). It remains only to insert an empty "disc" into the drive and begin the recording process.

Just note that in most cases for a 32-bit system will have a regular CD-ROM. The amount of recorded information will be about 150 MB. If you use the Windows 7 recovery disc of a 64-bit architecture, it's better to take a DVD.

This is not the only method for accessing commands. You can also use the main "Start" menu, where in the "Maintenance" section you select access to backup and restore or the immediate command to create a bootable system disk. You can use the recdisc command in the "Run" menu (Win + R). The essence of this does not change.

Creating an Image of the System

Equally effective is the creation of an image of the system. This method allows you to get copies of all the disks and partitions necessary for the correct operation of the operating system.

In the section above, instead of creating a recovery disk, simply select the "Create a system image" option, and then you will need to select the location of the backup (hard disk or its partitions, optical disk or network location). In principle, the procedure is almost the same as that described above.

What you need to restore the hard drive

Naturally, the recovery of the hard disk of Windows 7 can only be performed in the manner considered, but it is better (and this is proved in practice) to use special utilities. One of the most powerful is Acronis True Image. In it, you can create both a recovery disk image of Windows 7, and a backup copy of the entire hard drive and its partitions.

In this case, select the "Create archive" item in the program menu, after which you can choose what you want to copy. There are two fields here: "The whole hard disk or separate partitions on it" and "Files and folders". It is clear that you can make a complete copy of all the data of the hard drive, but here it is necessary to take into account one important aspect, namely - the amount of information placed in the backup.

This is where the problems with the lack of disk space begin. For a seamless image, it is better to use removable HDD-hard disks connected via USB ports, and in order to save individual files and folders in most cases, an ordinary USB flash drive will work. It all depends only on the volume of the "screw" (files and folders) and the amount of removable media.

Third-Party Applications

A simple solution to the problem of how to create an image of a recovery disk for Windows 7 can be the use of popular utilities such as UltraISO, Daemon Tools and many others. As a rule, all software products of this type have at their disposal the appropriate tools for working with images.

In this case, the image itself (the system or the hard drive) is first created, and then written to the corresponding removable storage medium.

If the restore does not help

But now a few words about the problems with the download, if the boot disk recovery system of Windows 7 does not help.

A system crash could have been caused by viruses, so even booting from the disk will not fix the problem. The copy will still "hook" the virus from the hard drive, because the recovery does not affect the user files and folders (and the viruses are masked for them).

In this case, it is recommended to use utilities such as Kaspersky Rescue Disc before recovering, which are capable of being loaded before the start of the OS itself. As practice shows, they remove viruses much more efficiently than stationary antiviruses, whose work directly depends on the state of the "operating system".

In some cases, the problem, if the system has not recovered, you can try to solve by using utilities to test the HDD. Among them, too, there are those that start before the start of Windows OS boot. However, the use of antivirus, and then the system recovery disk in most cases helps very well. Hard drive testing may be required only if there are problems associated with physical defects or non-correctable standard methods by system failures in the form of broken sectors.
