How to make airplanes from paper with your own hands?

The thirst for flights arose in humanity at the dawn of time, when our ancestors first looked at the sky. From the levitation of Icarus in Greek mythology and to the high-speed maneuvers of modern Superman, this incredible ability has always been a dream of a man that has partially, but has already come true. And the constructed airplanes made of paper by their own hands played here not the least role.

Paper and the human brain

Before the light saw real aircraft, they tried to make them from improvised materials, including paper. Long before the first Boeing appeared, many artists and engineers looked at paper planes as an object of realization of their imagination. And the best projects could even become prototypes of real aircraft. Now you can make a variety of the size and shape of airplanes from paper with their own hands.

Creation of paper aerodynamic structures

Despite the fact that this activity seems to be just a child's play, in fact it is an entire science. It all began with the fact that in 1930 the founder of Lockheed Corporation, Jack Northrop, used airplanes made of paper. These were some kind of tools for implementing new ideas in the design of real aircraft. At the world level, even whole sports shows are held, where champions compete to launch this unique technique. In order to make an airplane made of paper that flies for a long time, you will need a sheet of thick A4 paper and some free time.

A wide variety of shapes and patterns

Paper airplanes with their own hands are made in completely different ways, from the simplest to the most incredibly complex designs with many elements. However, there is one feature that unites absolutely all paper devices for flights. It consists in bending paper, other manipulations - are forbidden. That is, only hands and a sheet of paper are needed for work, no scissors, glue and scotch. How to make an airplane made of paper that flies long and for long distances? There are many models, and therefore a large number of ways to design them.

Simple scheme

All of us in the childhood made airplanes from paper. Schemes, which even the child can do, are simple, involving only a few simple actions. More complex designs involve more time, manipulation and patience. And depending on which scheme was chosen, depends on what will be the appearance, as well as the duration and specifics of the flight. Somewhere you might need a paper softer and thinner, and somewhere - quite the contrary. Some created airplanes from paper with their own hands write a straight line in the air, while others are capable of maneuvers.

A very useful lesson

To create airplanes from paper with your own hands is not only interesting, but also very useful. First, small motor skills of the fingers develop. Secondly, imagination and creative thinking are stimulated. Thirdly, there is a concentration of attention, as it is necessary to observe a specific sequence of manipulations, which, in turn, strengthens self-discipline.

Where to begin?

The main advantage in creating such models is that a minimum amount of materials and devices is used. All you need is a sheet of A4 paper (color does not matter), a little patience, perseverance and the presence of a certain pattern in front of your eyes. To decorate finished products you can use markers, paints, stickers and so on.

Paper airplane: step by step instruction

  • Step 1. Take a piece of paper and bend it in the middle so that the fold line is exactly centered. After that, we deploy it back.

  • Step 2. Bend the upper corners on both sides to the line where the central crease runs.

  • Step 3. Fold the sheet horizontally, so that the resulting triangle would look with the nose down.

  • Step 4. Bend the edges from two sides, forming the so-called "tow flaps".

  • Step 5. Bend the wings. To do this, add two more leaves to the center of the plane. The figure is beginning to look like a real paper airplane.

  • Step 6. We make additional folds on the wings, parallel to the central crease.

  • Step 7. The airplane is ready for flight!

  • Step 8: Bonus. If you want your paper airplane to fly farther and longer, you need to fasten the usual paper clip in front of the case. The extra weight will help him fly to a greater distance.

There are many skills that parents pass on to their children: how to ride a bicycle, how to learn to swim and, of course, how to make airplanes from paper with your own hands.
