How to make a master key for different locks

In everyday life there are situations when a closed castle blocks the road and prevents you from doing your business. And if you do not want to knock out the door, then there is only one thing - to open the lock without a key. In that case it is useful to know how to make a master key. In addition, a set of simple skeleton keys would be a good idea to have somewhere in the far pocket.

The easiest way to work with cylindrical, they are the most simple and understandable. The key to such a lock is flat with prongs on one side. If the key has the form of a long rod with protruding figured beards at the end, then this is a lock-in lock. For each of them uses its own technique and its master keys.

Cylindrical locks

Many of those who are interested in how to make a master key have in mind exactly cylindrical, or English, locks - they are the most common and convenient. The master key consists of two main parts - the manipulator, which will need to press the necessary prongs, and a swivel plate, which will rotate the larva of the lock. They are made of thin (0.5-0.7 millimeters) and strong metal. It is best to use Soviet folding meters or a saw blade. In emergency situations, if you do not find this at hand, you can use any pieces of thin sheet metal. The turning plate is easy to make, for this, a strip of metal with a width of five millimeters is bent at a distance of 7-10 millimeters from the end at a right angle to create a lever. With the manipulator it is more difficult - its shape should be such that by means of it you can press on one or several cylinders of the locking system. In the simplest version, you can make it just a narrow strip with a slightly curved end or a thickening on it. In the most extreme case, you can use a wire or a paper clip. If the key is made with the hope of further use with different locks, you can try to make a set of manipulators of various shapes with several prongs, which will open almost any locks.

Locked locks

The main difference between the locks and the English locks is that the larva of the cylindrical lock can be turned from the outside, and the handlebar does not. Therefore, the keys for the lock locks must consist of one part that will both move the code part and rotate the mechanism. Therefore, it should be strong, but at the same time thin to provide mobility. You can use any strong pins, on which it is convenient to attach the handle for turning and the barb on the end for opening.
