How to install a toilet bowl with your own hands? Some nuances

To understand how to install the toilet with your own hands, any person, even the one who first meets such a need, can. The main thing that is needed for this is accuracy, lack of haste and the desire to perform work qualitatively. Unless the toilet with the installation may require more time, but even in this case everything is doable.

Installation location

Experienced builders recommend placing the toilet bowl as close as possible to the sewer pipe. Even with sufficient slope of the additive pipe, a large distance from the drainage can subsequently lead to the need for unplanned cleaning. The closeness of the water supply line is not so important, as it can easily be built up with reliable plastic or metal plastic.

Until recently, it was not a secret for anyone how to install a toilet bowl with their own hands: two small boards were placed on the floor, neatly hid by a floor covering, and the toilet itself was screwed onto it. Some houses still have a similar scheme, although now they have refused it. Indeed, tiles and concrete allow a more qualitative fixing of the earthenware on the base.

We connect to the sewage tap

When deciding how to install the toilet with one's own hands, one of the problems that worries many is the connection technology to the riser. In fact, as already indicated, nothing is complicated. Is that if the original special corrugated pipe section (corrugation) was not purchased, you will have to go to the store for him. This nozzle corresponds to the diameter of the toilet outlet and the standard size of the collector, that is 110 mm. On both sides on it are fixed rubber sealing rings of special design. The branch pipe is first put on the toilet outlet, then onto the sewer pipe outlet. It is important not to damage the material of the corrugation. If necessary, you can grease the pipes with a small amount of liquid soap. By the way, the corrugated pipe allows to connect even a toilet with an oblique outlet without any problems. In general, this is a very convenient and inexpensive solution. The corrugation itself is distinguished by its quality and, as a consequence, its value. If the installation is carried out before the next major overhaul, you can stop on a cheap plastic model - if you do not touch it and do not damage it during installation, then the service life is quite sufficient.

The disadvantages include the possibility of accidental damage.

Another option, how to install the toilet with your own hands, involves making the connection directly with a plastic pipe of the appropriate diameter. On its output a special sealant is attached, providing a hermetic connection to the toilet. The difficulty here is that it is necessary to accurately calculate the desired length of the plastic nozzle, since it is practically impossible to increase or decrease it.

Installation and Mounting

After connecting the nozzles, it is necessary to fix the toilet itself. To do this, two labels are placed on the floor, corresponding to the mounting holes in the product. Then they drill out, plastic dowels (usually come in the kit) are jammed and screws are screwed onto which the decorative washers are put on. For concrete or tiles, you can advise to place a thin layer of cement-sand mortar under the toilet bowl or, if possible, a special rubber gasket.
