How to fill an inkjet cartridge

Given the relatively low cost of printers, such devices can already be considered an indispensable component of a home computer. In light of this, it is quite understandable that many people are interested in how to refill a printer cartridge.

In this paper, we will deal with this issue in detail with respect to inkjet models that print liquid ink. Also in general we will describe how to fill the laser printer cartridge . This injustice is justified: jet models are cheaper than laser ones and, most importantly, they allow printing in color. The cost of color laser printers will scare even a person with an average income.

Before we consider how to fill an ink cartridge, let's recall the internal arrangement of these models: the nozzles of the print head, controlled by the controller in accordance with the instructions of the computer, in one way or another, give out to the paper microparticles of liquid paint of the desired color. The paint itself is in the reservoirs - cartridges and is gradually consumed. New cartridges are expensive, but there is a way out - learn how to fill the cartridge yourself.

It will take:

- Workplace (table), covered with a thick layer of newspapers, cardboard, film - everything that will not allow accidentally spilled paint to serve as a reason for clarifying relations with relatives.

- Several pieces of clean cotton wool. It is needed to remove possible streaks from the cartridge.

- Cheap polyethylene gloves (in them, women dye their hair). With proper skill, this need disappears, but beginners who do not want to walk with the hands dirty with paint, it is better to protect them.

- Several disposable syringes for 5 ml - on a syringe for each color. By the way, the number of colors varies from model to model, but always at least four (black, red, blue, yellow). You can find out in the instructions.

- Banks with paint. Should be suitable for this model and be of the right type (pigment, water-soluble).

So, how do I fill the cartridge? Turn on the printer and open the case cover (see the instructions for replacing the cartridges), as a result, the carriage slides out into the seat, allowing you to remove the cartridges. We take out the necessary one and look for a small hole on its top cover. There are several, you need less. Often it is hidden under a sticker. We draw in a syringe a paint of the necessary color, slowly introduce a thin needle. There must be a distance between the needle and the walls for the passage of air. Inside the cartridge there is an absorbent material, so the needle must resist when inserted. To the bottom of the cartridge leave at least 1 cm further each will figure out how to fill the cartridge. Slowly squeeze out the ink. Usually enough 1,5-2,5 "cubes" (depends on the capacity of the container and the remainder of the ink). It remains to return them back to the printer.

A few rules:

- For a cartridge that combines several ink tanks, it is necessary to match the holes on the Internet. Otherwise, you can confuse the colors and you will need to rinse the cartridge.

- Ideally, you need to flush the container with a special liquid, because mixing different paints is not recommended. It is strictly prohibited to pour into the cartridge, in which there were water-soluble inks, their pigment type (and vice versa) without rinsing.

- Sometimes there are chipged cartridges that do not work after refueling. The counter in them needs to be reset or replaced in the original "frozen" (famous for Epson).

In laser models, instead of ink, toner is used - a special powder. Sometimes it is allowed to refill the internal container with toner through the provided hole (gently fall asleep). But more often without disassembling the body can not do. All models are unique, so there is no point in describing the process. It is important to remember that toner has a shelf life and it should not have lumps, in addition, the powder is carcinogenic, so once again they better not breathe.
