How to create a decorative pond using a film material

Decorative reservoirs on the site and their creation is a laborious process. Nevertheless, the presence of such a composition gives an original and unique look to the garden.

You can arrange such a pond in two ways: either purchase a ready-made form in the store, or buy film material, which will be somewhat cheaper. We will go the second way.

PVC film is available in different thicknesses. For a pond up to 1.5 meters thick material suitable for a thickness of 1.5 millimeters. You can apply and rubber coatings, which are more durable.

Before starting work, you should determine the place where our decorative pond will be located. It is advisable to choose a location away from trees, since in time their roots can disrupt the integrity of the structure. Plus the film ponds are that they can be made in any shape. The moat under the decorative pond is excavated with two steps, it is possible and more. What is it for? The first stage is intended for aquatic plants, and the second, the upper one - for strengthening the shoreline. This is not a prerequisite if you do not want to plant aquatic plants. The moat must be digested, taking into account the subsequent falling asleep with rubble and sand.

To strengthen the coast you need small curb stones that are installed on a previously prepared area (upper stage) and cement slurry. Before you start other work, you must wait to allow the solution to dry. Then you can proceed to the next stage.

To strengthen the bottom in the moat, rubble is poured, leveled and compacted, then there is a layer of sand. Such rubble-sand pillows will play the role of protection. If you immediately lay sand on the sand, then there is a high probability of leakage and, consequently, leakage. In order to avoid this trouble, geotextile is used. It is a dense and thick white material that does not rot and has a long service life.

After this, you can directly lay the film. When choosing it, it is better to give preference to gray or marsh material. This will help make the whole composition harmonious. In order for the film to be smoothed over the banks, we pour our future decorative pond with water, but not until the end. Now you need to trim the excess film. It is cut off by a clerical knife, taking into account the overlap on the curb - about 20 centimeters. Then the upper threshold is filled with gravel or pebbles, in order to hide the excess film. Thus, the decorative pond will have stony banks.

The main work is done, you can start to decorate directly. Water plants should be planted in special containers, this will facilitate their care in the future. A decorative pond, more precisely, its banks, can be planted with flowers, for example irises, roses, nymphs. For a more aesthetic appearance, you can add round-shaped stones of medium size, or lamellar.

To give the pond an originality in the composition, you can include a small waterfall, for this use special pump pumps, which can be purchased in the store for animals.

Decorative pond in the dacha can be supplied with a bridge. Their use will be more harmonious if several water reservoirs connected by streams are arranged on the site. This is not the rule, everyone can do as he pleases.
