Help yourself: a shot from the temperature

How to deal with high temperature? When you need to put the injections at high temperature, and when it should not be knocked down? The issues are topical, especially for those families in which there are small children, and the doctor's departure to the house is for some reason impossible.

First of all, you need to remember that to knock down adults below 38 ° is not recommended. Children can have other indicators: this kind of heat can cause some of them convulsions. For such children, self-medication is contraindicated more than all others. For them it is recommended to call a doctor right away, or even better - an ambulance.

The fact is that interferon, which is necessary for fighting against viral infections, begins to be produced in the body only after 38 °. Therefore, there is no point in making an injection from the temperature before this value. Of course, you need to observe the strictest bed rest, drink herbal teas, vitamins to help the body fight the infection. In order to know exactly when to put a shot from the temperature of a child, you should always consult a pediatrician.

For a start, you can recommend trying to get the heat down by sparing funds. Well helps the vinegar wrap, alcohol wiping, enema with cold water.

If they do not help, you can call for more heavy artillery: many antipyretic drugs are available in pharmacies . But when aspirin, paracetamol or ibuprofen does not help, there is a need to put a shot from the temperature.

Doctors of Ambulance usually intramuscularly inject a lytic mixture from certain parts of diphenhydramine (papaverine) and analgin. Such a composition brings relief in 15-20 minutes. This is because the analgin in conjunction with dimedrol or papaverine has a very strong antipyretic effect, far exceeding the properties of paracetamol or aspirin.

In addition, it must be remembered that uncontrolled intake of aspirin by children or its incorrect dosage can lead to a terrible disease: Ray's syndrome. This is the name for the serious damage to the brain and liver.

So, how correctly to put a shot from the temperature?

First we determine the dosage. Dosage for children under 14 years is determined by the pediatrician, based on the weight and age of the baby. Typically, analgin is taken at 10 mg per 1 kg of the baby's weight, papaverine for 0.1 ml, and diphenhydramine for 0.41 ml for each year of the child's life. However, it is better not to inject children personally: each of the drugs or even the wrong position of the syringe and the chosen site of the injection can cause irreparable harm.

For adults, 2 ml of analgin, 2 ml of papaverine, 1 ml of diphenhydramine are taken in one syringe. However, today, when dimedrol is sold exclusively by prescription, it can be replaced with suprastin.

Now we start preparing. Before you take a shot from the temperature, you need to prepare everything you need: a disposable syringe, cotton swabs, ampoules, a nail file for their dissection.

Prepared ampoules are heated to the temperature of the patient (they can be easily held in hands), rubbed with alcohol.

After opening the ampoules, the medications in the syringe are typed in the following order: analgin, dimedrol (suprastin), papaverine.

Conditionally divide the butt into 4 equal parts. The upper outer quadrant is treated with alcohol, clamped with the fingers of the muscle and, while holding the syringe at right angles, slowly and very gently inject the lytic mixture. The site of the injection is again treated with alcohol and for a while, pressing, keep the swab at the injection site.

Itself is easier to make an injection in the thigh. To do this, sit down, pull the muscles on the front of the thigh, lead the needle about 4 cm. The rest of the techniques are the same as when pricking into the buttock.

Why do we need a lytic mixture? The fact is that with an increase in body temperature of only one degree, the load on the heart increases by 15%. This means that a prolonged heat can cause irreversible damage to the heart and brain of the patient or even kill him.

If the shot knocked the heat off for a short while, it's better not to repeat it, but to find a way to get a doctor's advice and help.
