Hector Barbossa - the best filibuster in the history of cinematography

Captain Hector Barbossa - one of the main characters of the movie series "Pirates of the Caribbean", delivered in 2003 at the film studio "Walt Disney Pictures." The character is beautifully played by actor Jeffrey Rush. Throughout the plot in the film closely interacted with two main characters: Jack Sparrow and Hector Barbossa.

"Black Pearl"

A strange stranger appears in the English port. He rescues the daughter of the governor who fell into the water. Further, the main events unfold in a chronological order in the first series, entitled "The Curse of the Black Pearl." The pirate brigantine under the black flag and under the command of Captain Jack Sparrow (his role is played by Johnny Depp) is rampant in the sea.The senior helper on the ship, Hector Barbossa, Gradually moves away from his former friend and begins to make plans to eliminate Sparrow and seize the ship.

Confrontation on the ship

Once the competition with Jack took an open form, and the whole team witnessed their quarrel. Being decisive in nature, Hector said so bluntly that the captain's position suits him more. A Sparrow, they say, cares only about their own skin. The quarrel was hushed up at that time, but the flywheel of confrontation was already started, Jack Sparrow became more cautious and tried to win over to his side the greater part of the crew.

Hector Barbossa, for his part, also did not doze, and he managed to convince part of the team in the failure of the captain. However, in general, his plans were not to come true, and during the next skirmish with Jack Hector Barbossa dies, slain by a bullet. The further development of events somewhat slows down, as is usually the case when the protagonist is eliminated from the narrative.

Special genre

The film is created in the style of fantasy, which means that in the course of the plot, any transformations are possible. Hector got to the next world, and Jack Sparrow at one time also did not escape this fate. And, nevertheless, both remained "conditionally alive" and continued to clash and compete on the other side of reality.

However, the enmity could not last forever, the time came when both pirates united and stood united against the third force, which threatened them with total destruction.

The second series. "Dead Man's Chest"

In 2005, the continuation of the "Black Pearl" was withdrawn. In the second series, entitled "Dead Man's Chest", Hector Barbossa is not involved. However, later, resurrected by the magician Tia Dalma, he appears at the very end of the film, before the credits.

The third film. "On the edge of the world"

In the next series, Hector Barbossa becomes the main character. He helps Elizabeth Swann and Will Turner to rescue Jack Sparrow from the trap of Davy Jones. Otherwise, it will not be possible to free the goddess Calypso, who should become the key to a successful fight against Cutler Beckett and Jones himself.

Pirates of the Caribbean. "On Stranger Tides"

In the fourth series, Hector Barbossa appears as the servant of His Majesty George II, and he no longer has one foot. He tells Jack how he lost his leg. As a result of the Blackbeard attack, which took over the "Black Pearl", Barbossa was tied up, and he was threatened with death. To free himself and save his life, he was forced to cut off his leg.

Hector Barbossa, a typical hero

The character of the cruel captain, who does not know the pirate's pity, in the course of the film intertwines with purely human qualities. Hector Barbossa (photos shown on the page, this certificate) loves beautiful clothes, although it requires practicality. Lacy shirts, in his opinion, are appropriate on a pirate ship, if they do not interfere with killing and robbing. The captain watches his appearance, wears an elegant leather coat and a hat with wide margins, always of the same color, richly decorated with ostrich feathers. The buttons on the coat are made of antique silver, which was still in use by the Incas.

Captain's Caprices

When he was serving as Hector in the "Black Pearl", Jack Sparrow repeatedly resented the "fashionable manners" of his assistant. And when Barbossa himself became captain of the ship, he gave himself free rein. In his cabin there was always a vase with green apples, the slices of which the pirate used for breakfast. Another weakness of the sailor was the pure, undiluted rum, which he consumed in incredible quantities. Hector preferred to drink alone, so as not to lose credibility with his team.

When the pirate lost his leg, he arranged in a wooden prosthesis a peculiar cache where there was always a large bottle of pure rum. Of course, everyone knew about this and condemned the drunkenness of the captain, but kept quiet.

Best filibuster in the movies

Hector Barbossa (actor Jeffrey Rush played the role convincingly and intelligibly) became the best pirate in the history of cinematography, his character was shown with frightening certainty. No one would like to fall into the hands of a cruel one-man murderer.

And yet, the captain of a pirate ship is shown not only as an incorrigible villain. He, above all, an experienced sailor and strictly observes the code of "Merry Roger". The captain is ruthless, but it happens and is fair. His orders for the killing of innocent victims and the destruction of captured sailboats can not be justified, but in his clouded wine pair the brain sparks the spark of humanity occasionally.

Being a living dead person among the other dead, members of his team, he could not reasonably think because of the imposed curse. When the people of Baron Palachnik took his ship away from him, Hector gave all his strength to find the guilty in his defeat. Having lost his leg and ship, he even left piracy, forgot about the feud with Jack Sparrow and went to the service of the English king, only to take revenge on the Blackbeard.
