One of the most attractive birds, which are very popular, is the golden bilberry, which has an incredibly original appearance. Her head (the upper half), as well as the chest and neck have a bright red (with a brown tinge) color. This color gradually turns into a yellow, almost golden tone on the shoulders and back. The area under the tail is painted in a bluish-green color. Head from the sides greenish, near the eyes - black, velvety, the throat has a bright yellow color, like the chin, at the bottom is a transverse black line. The bird's body beneath is blue-green, the surface of the upper wings is bluish-green, large and medium wings of a chestnut hue. The third-wings are blue, the secondary wings are full of chestnut shade, the primary wings have narrow green bases and are painted in a blue-green tone.
The golden beak has a particularly beautiful expressive greenish-blue tail, the middle pair of feathers is somewhat elongated in comparison with the rest and is distinguished by a black hue, the tips of the feathers are pointed. The bug has a beautiful curved, almost arcuate long, elegant beak with a sharp tip. Its characteristic feature: low legs of red color, and also red expressive eyes. The male is somewhat more saturated in color than in the female. The length of each individual is about twenty-six centimeters, and its wingspan is forty-five centimeters.
Amazing beauty, the exquisite golden bee-eater is a southern inhabitant, its homeland is a country with a tropical or subtropical climate. Today it is widely distributed in Morocco, in the northern part it is known in such countries as France, Italy, the Balkans, Australia, Hungary. The bird lives in Crimea (in Ukraine), and also in vicinities of Kiev and Poltava, it can be met in Voronezh and in the places located at the river Kama and Sura. The bird also lives on the territory that extends to the Kulunda steppe. Residents of Africa (north) and Asia (south-west) also often meet her. The golden bug (photo above) is able to nest above the sea (about 1.5 meters high). It is very rare to see a chick in Moscow and the Moscow region.

A beautiful and agile bird, a golden calf, leads a certain way of life typical of this type of bird. Particularly interesting are the moments of observation of her habits. Despite seeming innocence, such a bird is capable of causing some harm to agriculture. It almost destroys bees on the fly, destroying their nests. Hunting in the steppe zone, the bee chooses the apiary as a target and begins the attack. For this reason, in the southern regions it is called a "bee-eater".
