Ghanaian striker Abdul Waris

Abdul Waris is a Ghanaian football player who is in favor of the French "Lorient". This year he turned 25, so ahead of him waiting for a lot of playing time. Abdul Waris plays at the position of the central striker, but if necessary he can move to the flank - both to the right and to the left.

Carier start

Abdul Waris was born on September 19, 1991 in Ghana, where at the age of 12 he joined the football academy of the local Wright To Dream club. There he spent five years, and when he was 17 years old - went in search of a better fate in England, where he entered the College of Hartpery, for the team which he spoke for two years. In 2010, he was spotted by scouts of the Swedish club "Hecken", who invited the young man to sign a professional sports contract. So Abdul Waris began his career as a football player.

Moving to Sweden

In Sweden, Majid Abdul Waris spent three seasons, during which he appeared on the field 63 times. The most successful was his third season - during the first two he just adapted, so he managed to score just four goals. But in 2012 he managed to beat 26 goals in 35 games, which, naturally, attracted attention from more serious clubs. In 2012, the Swedish club with a transfer request turned Moscow "Spartak", which bought the contract of a young Ghanaian for three million euros. And from January 2013, Waris began to perform in Russia, where, unfortunately, he was greatly disappointed.

Failure in "Spartacus"

Unfortunately, "Spartacus" did not come to the place of Abdul Waris. The striker was acquired, but no one gave him the full play. He could not properly open up, as he did in Sweden, so in his first season came on the field only seven times, failing to mark a single goal. In January 2014, Waris was given six months in rent in Valenciennes, where he showed a very good result - in 16 matches scored ten goals. But, returning to "Spartacus", Waris again met with the problem of the lack of game practice. He played nine more matches for the club, scoring a single goal. After that, it was decided to sell it while there were buyers impressed by his game in Valenciennes. Turkish "Trabzonspor" was so interested that he did not spare six million euros, and in the fall of 2014, Uoris moved to Turkey.

The game for "Trabzonspor"

In the Turkish club the Ghanaian started to get a lot more practice game - for the season he went on the field 26 times. However, he did not show any results - for all this time he was able to mark only four goals. The Turks did not show patience and in a year they decided to get rid of the player, selling it to the French "Lorient" for four and a half million euros - a little less than they paid for it a year ago.

Going to Lorient

His first season in the new club Ghanaian played very well - he played 25 matches, which marked 12 goals. Naturally, this was not the most outstanding result - but it was clear that it was much more comfortable for Waris to play in France. In the current season, he already managed to enter the field 18 times, scoring five goals and giving two assists. His contract with the club is calculated until 2020.

National team appearances

In the national team of Ghana, Abdul Waris made his debut in March 2012, when he only got light in the Swedish "Hecken". Then he came on as a substitute in a friendly against Chile. While he was in Spartak, the challenges to the national team stopped, but already from the end of 2013 Abdul again began to fall into the application. As a result, he went to the World Cup in 2014, where he played just one match out of three. The African Cup of 2015, he missed because of injury, so now he can count only on the World Cup 2018. To date, Uoris spent for the national team of Ghana 25 matches, which scored four goals.
