Furniture from the Natural Tree. Which Tree to Choose?

You decided that you want to see in your interior furniture made of natural wood, but you can not determine what kind of wood to give preference to? The question is not the easiest, because all types of wood have their operational properties, let alone a unique texture. But we can advise which tree is best to make this or that piece of furniture.

Pine. Easy to work tree. Choosing pine as a material for furniture, remember that on its cut, there are almost always knots, and the lines of annual rings are smooth and precise. This breed has considerable hardness. It is made of inexpensive furniture, doors and window frames.

Fruit trees. Cherry, apple or pear can be easily processed. Furniture made of natural wood of such breeds can easily be decorated with carving or inlay. But remember that these types of wood are not particularly strong, so it is better to make them static, little used furniture.

Larch. One of the best breeds for furniture production, especially furniture for permanent use, such as tables or chairs. Larch is light in weight, but at the same time a very strong and durable tree, whose qualities are compared with the qualities of oak. It is processed quite simply and quickly. Another "magic" property of this breed is its resistance to moisture. In contact with soil or water, larch does not rot and does not become a residence for a variety of insects. Moreover, larch wood by its very presence has a health-improving effect on the human body, eliminates catarrhal virus diseases. Larch can distinguish up to 12 color shades, which allows you to use it in a variety of interior solutions.

Ash. Very hard (but softer than oak) wood with clear rings. Because of the texture, furniture from it looks noble and aesthetic, especially if it is additionally decorated with carvings. Another good option - bent ash, which will look especially aristocratic. Ash is considered one of the most environmentally friendly breeds. Warm and cozy colors make it suitable for living quarters.

Birch. Wood, which has a light yellow, less often - a light brown color. Most often, not even the wood itself is used, but its veneer. It lends itself well to varnishing, painting and decorative processing. The most valuable and high-quality wood is the Karelian birch. Its coloring on the cut may resemble a pinkish marble. Widely used for decorative purposes, especially for the manufacture of small parts.

Oak. One of the hardest and strongest species of wood. It is difficult to machine and hard to polish, so furniture from solid oak is considered very valuable. This is a good investment of money, because oak furniture will last at least for many years, and even centuries. But it is not recommended to place it in small rooms, because the room will look gloomy. It is believed that the energy of oak is useful for those people who often have to make important decisions.

Acacia. The hardest of the trees that grow on the territory of Russia. The color of its wood is close to greenish or yellow. Only a damp acacia can be machined with tools. However, it will serve for a very long time in any conditions, under any influences and even with active use. It may change the color slightly due to sunlight, but this will only brighten the product.

Redwood (mahogany and tsezalpinia). Very hard and valuable wood. It has a red-brown color and therefore looks very impressive. Mahogany is resistant to moisture and temperature changes, its texture is uniform, it has no inclusions. Finally, you can determine what the color of the mahogany will be, only after the final processing.

Wenge. Natural wenge or its veneer is a very rare kind of material for furniture, and is therefore highly valued. A very strong and resistant to any impact wood has a dark color and banded structure. If the interior is decorated in brown or cream tones, Wenge furniture will fit perfectly into it. However, do not abuse the dark color, especially if the room is small.
