Calendula (marigolds) is a herbaceous annual plant that grows in many suburban areas. True, the people call these flowers - marigolds. Valuable calendula is not for its appearance, but rather for those useful medicinal properties that are used in folk medicine.

Refers to the calendula family of astroids (Compositae). It is unpretentious, grows by a bush, the height of which is from 30 to 75 centimeters, depending on the composition of the soil and care. Has a highly recognizable odor arising when touched. Color inflorescence - from yellow to rich orange with a red tint. Whimsical seeds, rather large and similar to small crescents, have very good germination. They can reproduce by self-seeding, often growing far from the places intended for this.

To obtain a strong and healthy plant, the marigold flowers are sown in spring (early May) immediately to a permanent place, slightly sprinkling with loose soil. Calendula is growing very quickly. The first buds can appear in about a month. In order for flowering to be continuous until the first autumn frosts, it is not recommended that the flowers of the marigold tie the seeds. We must cut them off permanently.

Care of the plant consists in weeding from weeds, loosening of the soil and irrigation. You can fertilize them with complex fertilizers several times a season.

- calm the central nervous system, etc.

In the flowers of marigold there are many carotene, phytoncides, organic acids and vitamin C. They also contain trace elements (copper, zinc, selenium and molybdenum). Thanks to the presence of the above substances, immunity increases, a positive effect on the teeth, cardiovascular and reproductive systems, as well as oncological diseases are prevented.
