Flag and the coat of arms of the Kirov region

At the end of the first decade of the 18th century, during the reign of Peter I on the map of the Siberian province appeared Vyatka province. The role of its administrative center was assigned to the city of Khlynov. Eight years later he was reassigned to the province of Kazan. In the 80th year, i.е. Almost half a century later, when Khlynov received a new name - Vyatka, the same governorate was formed. Thus began the history of the present coat of arms of the Kirov region.

Vyatka Province: coat of arms

The image of a bow with an arrow and a stretched string became the main element of the Vyatka emblem. It first appeared on the State Press of Tsar Ivan IV. The picture served as the basis for the future coat of arms of the city. There were two of his options. The hand of the archer, half of which is hidden in the cloud, held arms with a tight or with a free string. In the hand-written book-directory "Titular", donated to Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich, you can find the following illustration. The hand that appears from the cloud holds a stretched bow. In the space above there is a small cross of red color. Part of this is the modern coat of arms of the Kirov region. The description of state symbols is given below.

In the last days of May 1781, the city of Vyatka was officially approved. He also served for some time automatically and provincial coat of arms. The idea of how the symbol of Vyatka province looked then can be obtained after acquaintance with a special document. All the elements - a hand with a bow and arrow, a cross above them - are located on the background of the golden shield. The publication entitled "Image of provincial, local, collegiate and all civilian uniforms", dating from 1794, when mentioning the coat of arms of the Vyatka vicegerency almost one in one repeats the text of the document of 1781.

Differences that the ruler did not like

In the middle of the next century, Emperor Nicholas I, for some unknown reason, did not wish to approve the draft of the emblem submitted to him, which looked a bit different. Against the backdrop of a field sparkling with gilding, a small segment of an azure cloud appears on the left side in the center. From it a hand appeared, pulling the bow of the bow, in which there is an arrow directed along the horizontal axis in the opposite direction from the cloud. In the upper right corner is a cross. Above, as it should be, the imperial crown is located, and on all sides and from below, oak branches with the Andreevsky ribbon adjoin the shield. Sleeve, bow and arrow and a cross of dark red (scarlet) color, and the crown and oak branches are golden. In early December 1856 approved a slightly modified version of the Vyatka title coat of arms. The missing frame is the only difference from the original drawing.

So today's coat of arms of the Kirov region was modified. It was not heavily criticized by the rulers, so there were no special differences.

How to create the modern coat of arms of the Kirov region

Kirov region was formed on December 5, 1936, two years after the creation of the same name. In the post-Soviet period, for the first time, after a long break, the symbolism of the region revived. It happened in 1995, after the regional Duma adopted a special law. Practically, he, too, did not differ from his "ancestor" from the previous century. The only nuance was the description of the military cross in the upper right of the heraldic corner (if in relation to the viewer - in the left). Each of its four ends was closely placed one ball.

However, there was a curiosity - instead of writing a "crocheted cross" (from the word "paws", or in the form of leaves of a maple), because of a misprint, the "latticed cross" was obtained. Local legislators, as they say, "got out", inventing a successful interpretation. Ostensibly the word is a derivative of a dialect from the distant past "lacha" - a way or a pattern.

Only after 10 years in the new edition of the Law on the arms were bothered to correct the mistake, the cross was already clawed. The arrow, tucked into the bow, is turned to the left in the position relative to the viewer. This is the coat of arms of the Kirov region, which can be observed at all important events of the region.

The semantic load carried by the arms of the Kirov region

Why does the hand appear precisely from the cloud? The explanation is simple and quite logical - divine providence is connected with the cloud. With an azure (blue) celestial tinge, the author seems to want to endow this phenomenon with qualities such as virtue, truth and beauty. The golden color in all cases emphasized the desire for wealth and greatness. Dark red (scarlet) clothes testified that her master is a brave and courageous person. The symbol for the protection of the native land from enemies was a tattered military cross of blood.

Thirty-nine regions have the Kirov region. The emblems of the districts are mostly yellow, green and red symbolism. They depict a bow and arrow, a variety of animals and birds. Each symbol indicates the strength and development of the area, local residents honor these state signs.

Flag of the Kirov region

A separate paragraph of the Charter of the Kirov region provides for the existence of its own flag. The right of each subject to have its own symbols is prescribed in the relevant article of the Basic Law of the Russian Federation. Symbolism, first of all, strengthens citizens' loyalty to the traditions of the people, respect for its historical past, contributes to the peaceful coexistence of representatives of different nationalities residing in this territory. Just like the coat of arms of the Kirov region, this state symbolism has a bow with a strained bowstring.

The width and length of the flag's flag are related as two to three. It has the form of a rectangle with three stripes. The upper white field is the widest, because on its background in the center is a heraldic shield. This strip takes three-fourths of the entire area.

The rest of the space is equally divided between the green and blue bands, one eighth of each. Modesty, pure thoughts symbolizes a white color. Good mood, optimism is promoted by green color. He also points out that the region is rich in forests.

The blue color is associated with honesty and fidelity, and the Vyatka River flows smoothly along the territory of the region . In this case, it not only connects two opposite banks, but symbolically unites all the inhabitants of the region.

The flag and coat of arms of the Kirov region are respected by local residents, they are used on significant holidays and they are placed on important municipal buildings.
