Fishing for pike is an extremely exciting kind of fishing and just an exciting activity. Particularly interesting in this regard is the fishing of pike on wobblers: powerful bites and screeching friction make you feel the real excitement and taste of fighting with an intelligent opponent.

Pike is a large predator, so it attracts large baits. This does not mean that a fine wobblack will not take a worthy specimen, but the probability of catching a large trophy in this case is significantly reduced. There is a hypothesis that pike prey prefers about 10% of its own length, however, as practice shows, this indicator can be much larger.

When is it important to catch pike on the wobblers? The most promising time of the year is spring, namely, April and May. Spawning in this predator begins quite early, on some reservoirs at that time still there are remains of ice. At this time, and also in the next 20-25 days, the fish rests and practically does not feed. After this time, biting begins. Small animals begin to be caught first, followed by larger ones.

As a rule, spawning in the pike passes violently, so scraped in some places scales, lean and emaciated form - this is normal. Sometimes there are parasites, especially leeches and carpoeids. When you try to resist the predator is weak, adjust to this state of his need and spinning. Rough baits and gear during this period are not relevant. So, for example, catching a pike on a wobbler immediately after spawning involves using baits 5-7 centimeters long. Another period when catching a pike makes sense is the end of summer - the beginning of autumn. By the way, it is during this period that most often unique specimens are caught.

If we talk about gear on a pike, then entire materials are devoted to this question. Depending on the conditions of the pond and the size of the pike on which you are going to hunt, the appropriate rods, coils, fishing lines and baits are selected.

Sometimes, in order to catch the pike more efficiently, it is possible to try a uniform slow wiring, that is, after casting the wobblish, rotate the coil intensively to the depth and start rewinding by slow rotation of the coil. The bait is most likely to sail the bottom, so it is better to raise the rod a little. Wobble can be so leisurely and smoothly that they are interested in even the most lazy pike in the pond.

Wobblers can be modified. Especially this applies to situations where a new bait is acquired, but a bite on it leaves much to be desired. The problem may be that the wobbler "pecks" at the time, as ideally it should hang horizontally. This is the option when it is necessary to modernize the bait. This is done by weighting or easing the front or back of the wobbler.

In general, do not be afraid to experiment. Each model wobblers and each pond requires a special approach, so if the pike stubbornly does not pay attention to your bait - safely change it, and your efforts will be rewarded.
