'Erius' preparation: instructions for use

The "Erius" medication describes the instruction for use as a drug related to a group of drugs called antihistamines. They have the ability to block peripheral H1 histamine receptors and suppress allergic reactions that occur under the influence of certain factors.

This drug, having the ability to have a sufficiently long antihistamine action, does not, however, cause a sedative effect. In this parallel, the main effect of the drug is considered to be less pronounced anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory effects.

Indication for the use of the "Erius" means the instructions for use consider the following manifestations of seasonal rhinitis, which is allergic:

- Nasal congestion.

- Sneezing.

- Itching.

- Lachrymation.

- Discharge from the nose.

- Itching in the sky.

- Redness of the eyes.

- Reduction of symptoms of hives due to allergies.

Forms of the preparation

For the convenience of patients, and also because the manifestation of allergic seasonal reactions can be very diverse, the drug is available in several dosage forms, which allows you to choose the most appropriate option in each case.

The medicine "Erius" (syrup) describes the instruction as a transparent liquid of pronounced orange color. 5 milliliters of syrup contain in its composition 2.5 ml of the main active substance desloratadine.

The agent "Erius" (tablets) describes the instructions for use as biconvex, round-shaped tablets, having a light blue color, with an embossed name of the manufacturer on one side. Each tablet contains 5 ml of active ingredient.

Dosage and specificity of the drug

The preparation "Erius" recommends the use of the instructions in the following doses (if the syrup is taken):

- Children from two and a half to five years - 2.5 ml of syrup.

- Children aged five to eleven years, the dose of the drug is doubled - up to 5 ml of the drug.

Children are advised to use the medication in the form of a syrup once a day, squeezed with a small amount of liquid.

- Adult syrup is prescribed in the volume of 10 ml of syrup once, take it regardless of food and drink it with liquid.

So take the syrup "Erius".

The tablet instruction is recommended only for admission by adults, their dosage is 5 milligrams, that is, one tablet once a day. If possible, the drug should be taken at the same time of day - this will speed up getting rid of allergic symptoms.

Like any other drug, "Erius" has a number of contraindications. This, above all, increased sensitivity to both the main active substance in the composition of the drug, and to the auxiliary components. In addition, it is not recommended to take the medication during the period of pregnancy and during breastfeeding. With great care and solely under the supervision of a doctor, the drug should be used in patients with liver disease (at any stage) or with kidney failure.

As possible side effects caused by the use of the drug "Erius", the instruction for use calls the following:

- Headache.

- A sharp increase in fatigue.

- Dryness in the mouth.

- Rash.

- Anaphylactic manifestations.

It should be noted that almost all of these phenomena are more typical when using the drug in children. For adults, the presence of side effects is atypical and is noted in no more than 2-3% of cases. In this regard, taking the drug is appropriate to combat the signs of seasonal allergy, because the drug itself does not cause any of its manifestations.
