"Enterofuril" (suspension) - recommendations for use

Nifuroxazide is the main active ingredient in the Enterofuril preparation (suspension), and sodium hydroxide, ethanol 96%, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, citric acid, carbomer, sucrose, distilled water and banana flavor are used as auxiliary substances. The syrup has a high density and a pleasant banana odor.

Also the preparation "Enterofuril" is issued in the form of capsules of yellow color, inside of them there is a yellow powder.

The drug "Enterofuril" (suspension) is an antimicrobial agent that is used in the treatment of infectious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. The effect of this drug is based on the fact that it contains NO2, which acts on the bacteria. In this case, the action of this drug does not affect the saprophyte flora and therefore there is no destruction of the natural intestinal microflora.

The drug "Enterofuril" (suspension) is almost not absorbed from the digestive tract, and all its therapeutic effect is inside the intestines, after which it is excreted along with the calves. Since different amounts of the drug are taken and each person has different intestinal motility, the withdrawal period depends on the above factors.

Indications for the use of the drug "Enterofuril" (syrup) are the presence of acute or chronic diarrhea, which is caused by infection.

Contraindications for use

This drug is not recommended for use in the following cases:

- if there is a high sensitivity to the constituents of Enterofuril (suspension);

- the drug is not used for premature infants, as well as for children under the age of one month.

Mode of application

Both syrup and capsules are taken only inside.

To receive the suspension there is a dosage spoon, before using the drug, you should shake it well. For children under six months, it is recommended to use the drug 2-3 times a day for 2.5 ml. If the child is under 2 years of age, then the same dose should be given, but four times a day. Children under 7 years are prescribed 5 ml of syrup three times a day. The duration of such treatment should not be longer than a week.

Children after 7 years are prescribed 200 mg of the drug 4 times a day (total 800 mg), and up to 7 years of age - 200 mg 3 times a day. The drug is available in capsules of 100 and 200 mg each.

Capsules are not assigned to children under the age of two.

Possible side effects may manifest in the form of various allergic reactions.

Since there are no specific signs of an overdose with Enterofuril (a suspension), it is simply recommended not to exceed these doses. In case of an overdose, standard therapy measures are taken.

Special Recommendations

If diarrhea is treated, then with the use of this drug should be used orally or intravenously rehydration therapy, it should match the intensity of diarrhea and the patient's condition. During the intake of "Enterofuril" (suspension), alcohol consumption is prohibited.

Form of the preparation

Suspension or syrup is available in a 100 ml glass vial containing 90 ml of Enterofuril. Each bottle has on the cap the control of the first autopsy and there must be a measuring spoon.

Capsules of 100 mg are packaged in 10 pieces in a package of three blisters, and 200 mg capsules - 8 pieces and in a pack of 2 or 4 blisters.

Do not freeze this product during storage, nor store it at temperatures exceeding 30 ° C. At the expiration date, for capsules is 5 years, for suspension - 3 years, the drug can not be used.
