"Elysium" (band): composition, history, albums, best songs and concerts

Elysium - what is it? The concept of harmony or a kind of paradise? Both, and also "Elysium" - a group from Nizhny Novgorod, which performs in a mixed style, or, as they defined their direction, performs a romantic rock.

Becoming a group

At the end of 1995 in Manhattan, but not in the US, but in Nizhny Novgorod, the first performance of the collective "Elysium" was held. The group, whose albums now disperse in huge editions, became known in Nizhny Novgorod a couple of years later.

The band was born thanks to Drakol (or Dmitry Kuznetsov). A young man from naval Severomorsk came to Nizhny to study. The idea to create something similar arose in Dmitry, according to his confession, for a long time, but everything lacked courage or something else. And when he did decide, he was not at all disappointed with the result. Having received an education and even two, he stayed in Nizhny Novgorod, but not a financial builder, but a permanent leader of the Elysium group.

Composition of the group in the first time

The author of songs, the bass player, he is responsible for the organization of concerts, decides which direction to play today, deals with the selection of musicians himself. He once went through several ensembles, performed different styles with different musicians, but always for him the main thing was "Elysium."

The group, which included Katerina Zudina, vocalist and guitarist, Alexander Repyev - guitarist and keyboardist and Dmitri Kuznetsov himself , made the first rehearsals in a rented apartment at Drakol and Ketish (Katerina).

A year later, the musicians managed to independently release the album My Self-control. Although he was not enthusiastically accepted by musical critics, it was still the first and quite a good undertaking.

In 1997 the collective "Elysium" received a diploma and was recognized as the best group of Nizhny Novgorod, and at the same time the composition increased, it included two vocalists.

The first albums and concerts

In 1998, the first LP "Home" was released. Noting his triennium and the release of the first album, the musicians begin to actively perform at major venues of the capital, while they continue to give concerts in their city. In Nizhny Novgorod they warm up the concerts of newcomers such as Lyapis Trubetskoy, "Bravo".

The coming millennium brings a lot of impressions and new acquaintances to the collective. "Elysium" is invited to the punk festival "Rocket to Russia". There were JMKE (Tallinn), "The King and the Jester" (St. Petersburg), Marky Ramone & The Intruders (New York), NAIV (Moscow).

Disintegration and a new success

But with the advent of the new millennium and with increasing success in the group itself, there is a disintegration. One is leaving for permanent residence in America, Katish is getting married, and the third is creating his own project. For this reason, from July to the end of the year the group suspends its speeches. But the team "Elysium" was able to quickly resuscitate, and already in 2001, it was a real success. On the air of the well-known radio stations, several songs from the group from the upcoming album "All the Islands" began to sound, which were received by radio listeners at the "hurray", and a new interpretation of the song "Wizards" favorite by many people - "Three horses" - was in the first four hit- Parade "Devil's Dozen."

2002 is pleased fans of the group "Elysium" the release of the album "All Islands". After the presentation, the team leaves on its first tour of Russia with such venerable rock bands as "Cockroaches", "Adventures of Electronics" and Japanese Sobut.

In the summer of two thousand and two, "Elysium" takes part in the "Invasion", taking place in Ramenskoye, and "Open the windows" in St. Petersburg. These festivals are among the main rock events of the country.

In 2003 the group takes part in the festival "High School of Punk". In the same year, the studio recorded the album "Space" with the participation of the new backing vocalist Ksyusha Sidorina. The third album is much more successful than the "Islands". And the song "Tell Birds" confirms that the group is bright, original.

In 2003 the collective makes its second tour around the country, but already solo. The musicians celebrate their eighth anniversary with the release of their first collection "Rock Planet". It included both popular compositions, and new songs of the group "Elysium". Presentation of the best album took place in the entertainment complex MAI.

"Elysium" becomes a participant of the festival "Wings-2004", it was held in Luzhniki. In the same year in Moscow the group held its festival "Punk-Romance", then it was held every year. Also in 2004, together with the team "Elysium", the group "Hives" made the first experiment in the world of music - they began to sing each other, and then released a joint album "Bio-split". This innovation was accepted with interest by listeners and fans of both groups.

Experiments with style

Sub project "Lamps" "We need seas and oceans" was published in 2005. Then the collection "Punk-romance 1" is released. On the "Invasion-2005" festival, "Elysium" is the leader of the "ska-ska" scene. 2005 is rich in events, the band has another album entitled "On the Outskirts of the Universe", in which the priorities changed. The decade of "Cosmos-Rock" was celebrated in the cult place of rock fans - DK Gorbunova.

Over the years, the band changed its style and lyrics. On their thirteenth birthday, they increasingly began to touch on social topics in their compositions: wars, morality, ecology. Songs in the new direction entered the album "13". After this, the group returns to its previous style of performance.

The group "Elysium" made its first tour to America in 2010. 2011 is dedicated to Ukrainian tours and the release of the Ukrainian-language album "Naikraschi spivanki".

Anniversary

In far 1997 the guitarist from "NAIV" told to Drakol: "Listen, let's be ten years old to the band, then we'll talk ...". And in December 2015, the punk rock band "Elysium" celebrated its twentieth anniversary.

"20 years is a lot or a little, and whether success can be measured by time? Do you consider yourself successful? "- the journalists ask members of the team.

"Initially, we did not create a group for the sake of success, only because of our own pleasure. And this, to a greater extent, is still so "- this is the answer of the rockers.

Concert of the group "Elysium" can now be described as an inexpressible and unpredictable show. The members of the rock band at these events are laid out one hundred percent, but because the live music that they perform, still attracts more and more fans.
