Director Wes Anderson: filmography and interesting facts from life

Today the cinema has reached such heights that it is already difficult to imagine what the modern spectator can still surprise. There were also non-standard shooting methods, and extremely original cast compositions, and blotches of animation. All this does not cause that enthusiasm, as it would be literally 10 years ago, not to mention earlier periods in the history of cinema.

Nevertheless, fortunately, there will always remain directors, in whose pockets several aces are hidden. This list includes, for example, David Fincher, Quentin Tarantino or Christopher Nolan. Fits in a row and relatively young, but incredibly talented Wes Anderson, featuring an extremely original view of the world.

Who! Where? When?

First of all, it should be noted that the name that the viewer sees in the credits and familiar to any connoisseur of independent cinema is a creative pseudonym used by the author almost from the beginning of his career. The real name of the creator of such tapes as "The Kingdom of the Full Moon", "The Unparalleled Mr. Fox" or, for example, "The Family of Tenenbaum" - Wesley Mortimer Wales Anderson.

Born director on May 1, 1969 in Houston in the family of an archaeologist and owner of an advertising company. In fact, it was from the parents that the future star of non-standard cinema inherited a special view of the world and some perfectionism in relation to the design of the picture.

Beginning of the legend

His childhood years, Wes Anderson spent in the company of two brothers - Eric and Mel, with whom he particularly approached after the divorce of his parents. This event was a real shock for the eight-year-old Wesley. The divorce struck the boy so much that this situation served as the basis for the "Tennenbaum Family" scenario, for which the director was later awarded the Oscar nomination.

Director's debut

In fact, Wes Anderson from the very childhood gravitated towards visual aesthetics. He was extremely worried about the moments of beauty that he had met in his life, so that the future director took up his camera at a rather early age.

The first masterpiece that saw the light was a short tape called "The Bottles Rocket", which was released in 1996. Critics rated the work very positively, and it was even called a breakthrough in the field of cinema, but it did not collect large amounts of money. Either the audience of the mid-nineties was not ready for such art, or an insufficient amount of funds was invested in the advertising campaign - now for certain it is already difficult to say.

However, Wes Anderson did not leave any attempts to remove the masterpiece, and already in 1998 the world saw the "Rushmore Academy".

A comedy that everyone likes

One of the main roles in this picture went to Bill Murray, who fell in love with everyone at that time, who successfully lit up in "Ghostbusters" and "Groundhog Day". It was then that director Anderson Wes formed finally as a creative personality, acquiring his own, recognizable from this moment style. "Rushmore Academy" has become a landmark in another aspect: it was this picture that forever linked Bill Murray and the American author of very strange, very special stories.

This time the tape was a resounding success both for critics and for the audience, and the name of the director sounded at full strength.

Style

Wes Anderson, whose films few people have not seen, is famous not only for original scenarios. In an even greater degree, he recognizes his very special manner of building the frame, filling it with color and sound. Each second is thought through by the director to the smallest detail, from the movement of the main character and ending with a geometric pattern on his T-shirt, successfully combined with the surrounding scenic situation.

If you see bizarre colors in the frame, a lot of symbolic details, lovely details that just seem insignificant, be sure - it's Wes Anderson. His films are concretized to an acceptable limit, and every part of the interior says something special about the character of the hero, his mood and his view of the world.

Creative heritage at the moment

As already mentioned, this American director began to shoot not so long ago, and so in his arsenal there are not so many works yet, but this is precisely the case when quality is not important, but quantity. Each frame, every note of musical accompaniment, every nuance in the camera location during the shooting - all this personally controlled by Wes Anderson. His filmography consists of only 15 director's works. Incredibly touching, inspiring faith in the purity of the soul, the film "The Kingdom of the Full Moon", the fanciful animation tape "The Unparalleled Mr. Fox", the last masterpiece of the director of the "Hotel Grand Budapest" "- they all easily won a huge number of fans around the globe. Absolutely all the work can be called the real brainchild of a talented director. All of them Anderson calls personal from the first to the last second.

A little interesting

So, who is he - Wes Anderson, whose filmography literally screams about the author's obsession with symmetry and harmony in everything and everything? About his personal life is known very little, but on the basis of some facts the impression of this representative of modern cinema is very peculiar.

For example, Wes Anderson, whose biography is mostly obscured, almost always appears in public in an old kind corduroy suit. This cute, cozy habit, addiction to the simple elegance of the past can be clearly seen in the characters of the director.

Things that just won the trust of this person, remain with him forever. This is how it happened with the famous font Futura, which Anderson always uses in the credits. The same can be said about the actors who wander in the works of this director from one film to another.

This man is literally full of surprises. For example, very few people know that he studied philosophy at the University of Texas. Who knows - perhaps, it was then that his peculiar view of the world, regularly reflected in the pictures, was formed.

Wes Anderson loves cranks, frankly admires them, patronizes them in their tapes, rewarding crazy acts with incredible endings and a special beauty of the frame. This is a director who simply can not be confused with anyone. This is an author, thrice nominated for an Oscar, which is difficult to find competitors in modern cinema.
