Description of the drug "Cerepro". Instructions for use

The drug "Cerepro" is a medication that is part of a group of nootropic medicines. It is available in the form of capsules and a solution for intravenous and intramuscular injections. Necessarily there is an instruction for use in each package of the preparation "Cerepro". However, the data provided in it is intended only for reading and familiarization, but not for the patient to independently determine the necessary dose of the drug.

The instructions for use of the "Cerepro" preparation are a regular leaflet, from which you can learn a lot of useful information. So, for example, the instruction indicates that 40.5% of choline is contained in the "Cerepro" preparation. It is characterized by metabolic protection, which promotes the release of choline in the human brain. The active substance of the drug is choline alphoscerate. Getting into the body, it under the action of enzymes is split into glycerophosphate and choline. In this case, glycerophosphate is a precursor of phosphatidylcholine of the neuronal membrane, and choline takes part in the biosynthesis of one of the main neurotransmitter mediators, acetylcholine. From this it follows that the Cerepro drug has a positive effect on receptor function and on the plasticity of neuronal membranes, and also in cholinergic neurons increases the efficiency of nerve impulse transmission. In addition, the drug "Cerepro" helps improve cerebral blood flow, strengthen the brain metabolic processes, activate the structure of the reticular formation and restore consciousness after traumatic brain injury.

Injectable solutions or Cerepro tablets may be used in the following cases:

  • During an acute or recovery period after receiving a serious craniocerebral trauma or ischemic stroke;
  • During the recovery period of hemorrhagic stroke with symptoms of damage to the brainstem;
  • For the treatment of degenerative or involutionary cerebral psychoorganic syndromes, cerebrovascular insufficiency;
  • Dementia of a different nature (eg, Alzheimer's disease) ;
  • Chronic circulatory failure of the brain;
  • Senile pseudomelanchia;
  • Disorders of cognitive nature: memory impairment, mental functions, decreased initiative and concentration of attention, disorientation, confusion, etc.
  • Changes in the sphere of behavior and emotions: emotional instability, decreased interest, irritability.

Among the contraindications to the use of the drug "Cerepro" instructions for use lists hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, pregnancy and breastfeeding.

It should be noted one more fact: almost any medical medicine can cause side effects. Most often, this occurs when taking the drug in maximum doses or for a long time, with the simultaneous administration of several different medications or with individual intolerance of any component of the drug. In this case, the medicine "Cerepro" is not an exception. Instructions for use indicate the possible occurrence of allergic reactions and nausea. It must be said that any side effects harm the body. In order for this to happen, if you have any unwanted effects, stop taking the drug immediately and consult a doctor.

Take Cercop drug should be strictly in a doctor-determined dose. If, for some reason, an overdose of the drug occurs, it is necessary to rinse the stomach, take activated charcoal.
