Day of struggle against smoking - an opportunity to live without cigarettes
World smoking day was established in 1987 by the World Health Organization (WHO), and this day is celebrated every year on 31 May. WHO established it not just so, but in order to attract people's attention to such an acute social problem as smoking, and to acquaint them with all the terrible consequences of tobacco dependence. This is the first ever epidemic that can be prevented, and healthcare is actively struggling to ensure that such a huge problem disappears once and for all.
The incidence of lung cancer is steadily increasing, and the likelihood of this disease in a smoker is 20 times higher. Do not forget about angina pectoris, stomach ulcer, ischemic heart disease, brain diseases, which in most cases are associated with smoking.
