Day of reserves and national parks. When and how do they celebrate this holiday?

On Earth, there are very few places that have not touched the hand of man. People understand with understanding that their influence on the planet from year to year is becoming more destructive. To preserve the Earth in its original form for future descendants, its animal and plant world, numerous parks and nature protection zones are created.

Prehistory

Nature has been polluted for more than a hundred years. But seriously thought about this only in 1997. It was then, on January 11, the Day of Reserves and National Parks was established. This number was chosen not by chance, on that day in 1916 the first state reserve was founded in Russia - Barguzinsky. On its territory is a wonderful place - the Valley of Geysers.

For a long time there have been protected natural territories in Russia: cult places, reserved groves, hunting reserves, in which kings, princes and other noblemen hunted.

But the first state reserve was created exactly at that time. Its creation allowed preserving and increasing the population not only of the Barguzin sable - many other animals and plants began to appear in larger numbers.

Some statistics

According to statistical data, reserves and national parks protect and preserve about 80% of the world's flora and fauna. On the territory of Russia there are more than a hundred reserves and 50 national parks. According to the area occupied by such zones, the Russian Federation is in the first place in comparison with other countries. The total area of all protected areas is about 200 million hectares. And this is neither more nor less - 12% of the entire territory of the country. Therefore, the World Day of Reserves is very important for Russia, because the huge territory of protected areas is constantly growing.

Law on Environmental Protection

Each of us has the right to live and exist in a supportive environment. However, we all are obliged:

  1. To protect both nature and the environment.
  2. With special care to treat natural resources.

The Law on Environmental Protection defines the legal framework of state policy in the field of nature itself and its relation to it. The authorities solve socio-economic problems, contribute to the conservation of natural resources, etc. All this must be done to meet the needs of the present and future generations.

Reserve - what is it?

It is impossible to equate the reserve with the national park - it is not the same thing. Moreover, there is and is celebrated such a holiday - the Day of Reserves and National Parks, Therefore it is necessary to distinguish these two names. The reserve is a piece of land or water under the protection of the state, within the boundaries of which it is forbidden to use the natural complex for economic purposes . This may be called a research institution, behind which protected areas are assigned. In Russia, there are about 80 reserves and hunting farms. They prohibit all activities that could violate the natural integrity.

The concept of "national park"

In the Russian Federation, the formation of specially protected facilities is a traditional and effective form of environmental protection. A national park is an aquatorium or a territory on which unique objects of nature are protected. From the reserve the national park is distinguished by the fact that visitors are allowed on its territory. Only in strictly designated places it is allowed to rest and move. Violations of these rules entail huge fines and criminal liability.

About reserves and national parks

These territories play a huge role in preserving the heritage of wildlife. These objects are protected by the legislation of the state. And not only on the Day of the reserves and national parks are guarded and protected by natural objects. They are engaged in this constantly. Protected areas are subjects of scientific research of scientists: ecologists and biologists. They study populations of animals and plants, their dynamics of growth and mutual existence.

11 January

This date appeared on the calendar of all ecologists recently and has since been considered an unofficial holiday. It is celebrated in the Russian Federation annually on the initiative of several organizations. In addition, this is a professional holiday for employees whose work is related to the protection of natural objects. In total there are about 11,500 such people in the country. It is on January 11 that they are awarded various awards for their special contribution to environmental protection.

On the Day of Nature Reserves and National Parks, hundreds of organizations and thousands of individuals educate Russians. After all, the daily and sometimes selfless labor of ecologists allows us to preserve in a natural form the unique landscapes of nature, the diversity of representatives of flora and fauna in the territory of Russia. Libraries invite everyone to visit book illustrative exhibitions devoted to the problems of ecology, nature, animal protection. Charity fund-raising events are held.
