Cucumber. How to grow seedlings of cucumbers from seeds?

Probably, every person who has a dacha or garden, annually planting various vegetables, including cucumbers, on his plot. Giving advice, which grade is better, and what worse it makes no sense, because everyone puts what he likes. In this article, we will talk about a simple and excellent way of growing cucumber seedlings and planting them in the ground.

Someone plants dry and soaked seeds, and some grow them. There is also another very convenient way to plant cucumbers with seedlings. We will grow it directly on the site, but in a specially made small greenhouse. To do this, you can use an old wooden barrel or any suitable container.

So, we prepare a place for future seedlings. It will take a box 1x1m in size, with a height of 80 to 100 centimeters. The box can be made from old tin and wooden boards, depending on what you find on your site. The box needs to be covered with a film. Pour the fertilized soil, a little tamped and cover a small hotbed for two days, in order for the earth to warm up.

After a couple of days, open the greenhouse, make small grooves and water with a weak solution of potassium permanganate. Then you need to expand the seeds, the distance from each other should be about five centimeters. To ensure that the seedlings do not freeze, try not to plant the seeds close to the edge. Now cover with a film and open it only two days later for watering. If the days are already warm, you can open a hotbed for several hours a day to ventilate.

If the main place for growing cucumbers is not yet ready on your site, it's time to do it. Cucumbers love the warmth and the sun, so you need to choose a place for beds. The beds are ready, the first leaf has appeared in the greenhouse in the greenhouse, and now it is possible to start transplanting the seedlings permanently. For each plant, you need to make a separate well and pour it with manganese solution. Transplanted seedlings, lightly press the ground under it and cover with a film for a few more days. As soon as you see that the seedlings have gone well into growth and the nights are no longer so cold, you can remove the greenhouse film.

Special care cucumber seedlings do not require, you just need to monitor the watering and sometimes weed the beds from the weeds. Now you know how to grow seedlings from seed of cucumbers and get an excellent harvest of these beautiful vegetables.

No family in Russia can do without cucumbers. Mistresses add them to salads, canned for the winter. Many people like to crunch and fresh cucumber. But not everyone knows that the birthplace of this vegetable is distant India. They also knew and loved cucumbers in ancient Greece. Doctors of Hellas prescribed cucumbers as a remedy for fever and cold. In Russia they liked to eat cucumber with honey. They also salted them in barrels. Since then, the cucumber in the Slavic countries is revered both as food and as a snack. Modern housewives have changed the proportions a little, but still keep the recipe for pickling this amazing vegetable.

On a three-liter jar you need to take four kilograms of medium-sized cucumbers, two liters of water, 4 tablespoons of salt, five cloves of garlic, dill with sprigs. And the compulsory ingredients in this recipe are leaves and horseradish root. Cucumbers rinse, pour water (necessarily cold) for several hours. The bank is sterilized as usual. All the greens are treated with steep boiling water and stacked in layers, alternating with cucumbers. The water is boiled immediately with salt, and another boiling brine is poured into the jar. The lid of the bank is covered, but not rolled up. In a day you need to drain the brine, boil it, pour it back into the jar. Close the lid again and leave for another day. On the third day, the brine is last merged, boiled and poured into a jar. Only after this triple action of the bank rolls up and after cooling it is stored in a cold place.
