In general, inspired by this story, Alexei Poyarkov (screenwriter of the film) went to Odessa, breathed the sea air, communicated with the inhabitants and wrote a script, which in 2007 was called "Liquidation." Actors of the series, despite the fictitious names, have real prototypes. With full seriousness, we can say that the scenario is based on real history.

The plot of the movie

The action of the picture takes place in 1946 in Odessa. The Department for Combating Banditry in the Odessa District finds a warehouse with uniforms for the military received directly at the warehouses of the military district of the city of Odessa. During the investigation and assistance of the childhood friend of the pickpocket Fima, David Markovich learns that in the case appears a man named Akademik.

Casting: unknown facts

For the role of David Gozman, with which Vladimir Mashkov just brilliantly coped, initially looked for a hardened, shaved, bandyuzhnik - this was what the screenwriter and director imagined him. Almost all the roles were agreed upon, but somehow the main character did not develop. Producers of the film several times suggested Ursulaku consider the candidacy of Vladimir Mashkov, but the director still did not dare, because the celebrity type went against the imaginary way.

Nevertheless, Sergei Ursulyak began to prepare the ground and consult. Still, in the film "Liquidation" the actors were already approved. The first person to whom he spoke about Mashkova's candidacy was Ursulyak's wife. On the screen, she was to embody the role of Norah, the lover of the protagonist.
