Needless to say, in our small apartments, rooms, as a rule, perform several functions. They are both a study and a bedroom, a living room and a dining room, a bedroom and a nursery, and so on. And it is very good, if it is possible to separate these functions and equip one room, albeit very small, only for family rest and reception of guests.

When designing any premises it is important to determine all its advantages and disadvantages and, taking this into account, develop a design. A small living room can become very cozy, if it is reasonable to use a small space and choose the finishes, furniture and accessories taking into account the area. Premises of modest size have one important advantage - for its arrangement even with a modest budget, you can choose expensive, exclusive materials, because they will need a little.

Design of a living room in a small apartment

The success of any project depends on careful preliminary preparation. This is important when we equip the room and develop its design. A small living room that performs only its intended purpose will be beautiful, cozy and warm, if it is not overloaded with excess furniture and accessories, it is appropriate to choose the color of the walls and ceiling, and also skillfully distribute the light sources.

Color of walls

Light pastel colors of walls expand the space. However, this does not mean that bright colors in small rooms can not be used. Dark saturated coatings are effectively combined with light furniture and white ceiling. The wallpaper is better to choose monochrome, but if you liked it very much, then they recommend only one wall, by turning it into a decorative panel.

Furniture and design

A small living room should not be crowded with bulky furniture. You should abandon large closets and walls, no matter how comfortable and roomy they are, and replace them with light shelves and built-in racks, as if "dissolved" on the wall surface. A very good solution for small rooms is the use of the window area (which, as a rule, is not used in the interior) to accommodate narrow and light open cabinets. Of course, the center of any living room is a soft group consisting of a sofa and armchairs, as well as a small table. Upholstered furniture does not have to be placed along the walls. A successful layout will be a composition in the center of the room from small double sofas-transformers, especially if you supplement it with an electric fireplace near the wall and a television panel.

Light design

A small living room should be lighted well. Various light sources visually expand the space, create a special atmosphere and coziness.

In a small room from the central ceiling chandelier can easily be abandoned, replacing it with a hidden illumination along the perimeter of the ceiling, spotlights and ceiling lights with directional light.

In the recreation area set floor or table lamps with large lampshades. Additional cozy sources of light are wall sconces and supercarriers with a weak directional light flux.

Textile

Heavy multi-layer drapes overload the interior design of a small living room.
