Constant current in human life

The term "direct current" has several kinds of definitions, and each of them deserves special attention. Most often, this concept is called an electric current, which has properties that are constant from time to time, directions and parameters. The existence of a direct current is possible only in a closed circuit. This is due to the need to maintain a constant voltage, which is fundamental for this phenomenon. Despite the various sources of direct current, this definition always remains unchanged.

DC has a number of sources that are actively used in the daily life of a person. The main ones are electric machine generators. Sources are also photocells, galvanic cells and thermoelements. The simplest kind of DC source can be called batteries (galvanic cells). In this case, direct current has a distinctive feature - the possibility of its repeated use, which makes such elements quite useful and cheap in daily operation. Agree, if each time to buy conventional batteries on the camera, the cost of photographs will increase significantly. This process can be achieved thanks to the property of reversibility of chemical reactions.

Electric machines and generators of direct current are electromechanical sources of direct current. The DC power supply is the conversion of a mechanical current into an electric current. This is the basis for various electrical equipment for cars and other vehicles. And the same is based on the extraction of electricity by alternative methods - wind and hydroelectric stations.

There are several types of DC converters. The most common option is a rectifier, which is most often used in appliances operating from an electrical network. Rectifiers are classified according to the power, from the basic rectification scheme, depending on the number of phases that are used in its operation. Amplifiers of direct current are also used together with them. In addition, there are options for classifying the management of output parameters, by the presence of stabilization devices. All possible variants of classification are almost impossible to enumerate. But, one way or another, almost all of them are present in our houses and apartments, since without them it is practically impossible to use modern equipment.

The direct current is mainly used in the work of various techniques. The source of power for almost all electronic circuits is precisely the electric current. For the existence of a direct current, it is sufficient to have two obligatory conditions-free electric charges and an electric field.

In the modern world, electricity is mainly generated by special power plants. This happens solely on the basis of technical and economic considerations. Thanks to the operation of power plants, direct current is distributed among numerous receivers, which consume the energy not of constant but of alternating current. And only after reaching a specific destination, alternating current is converted into a direct current, thanks to simple adaptations. Another area of direct current application in the modern world is railways. Many models of electric locomotives work mainly due to the consumption of electric current.

As you can see, from all of the above, we can conclude that the direct current has reliably occupied the leading places in the process of human activity. It's hard to imagine what will happen to humanity if electricity and direct current disappear overnight!
