The compressor from the refrigerator serves to compress the refrigerant and move it around the entire system of the heat exchanger. This is achieved by creating a pressure difference. It is in it that electricity is converted into work on transferring heat from internal chambers to the external atmosphere. Which creates the effect of cooling.

Kinds

A modern type of compressor for refrigerators is basically a piston with a vertical arrangement of the motor shaft. It is suspended on springs and closed by a sealed enclosure. This reduces noise in the system. Previously, the compressor from the refrigerator had a horizontal layout, which made the construction more noisy, since the vibrations were transmitted to the whole body. Piston devices are divided into crank-connecting rod and crank-rocker. Both varieties proved to be reliable and durable mechanisms. For large refrigerators, crank-connecting devices are installed, capable of withstanding rather large loads. Along with imported refrigeration equipment, new types of compressors have appeared - linear ones. They do not have a rotating shaft, and the reciprocating motion of the piston is provided by electromagnetic forces. They are also installed on refrigerators with a large volume, since these are very economical devices. Even less common is a rotary compressor from the refrigerator. Here, the pressure difference is created by changing the pressure in the suction chambers and injecting the rotor by rotation. It has small dimensions. But in Russia and in neighboring countries they are not produced. The screw compressor from the refrigerator is similar in its characteristics to the piston ones. However, the first is characterized by less weight, reliability in operation, it does not have friction in the compression plane, in addition, it can be used at low temperatures.

Repair of the refrigerator compressor

Repair of the refrigerator is divided into two main types: repair of automation and major repairs. If nodes such as evaporator, compressor, condenser fail, then major repairs are carried out. It consists in removing the refrigerant from the refrigeration unit and replacing the failed nodes. Compressors are refused most often due to an oversight of the service organization. The most common reason for the failure of this unit is the untimely replacement of the air filter. Because of this, the valve block first and then the crank mechanism breaks down. If it is determined that the compressor has failed, then if there are small jams in the rubbing pairs and, if the stator winding is intact, you must try to start it before dismantling it. For these purposes, for a short time the windings through two diodes with different conductivity directions are connected to a network with a voltage of 220 V. The free ends of the diodes are connected. At the same time, a rotating alternating moment appears on the rotor. The rotor will vibrate at a frequency of fifteen Hz. Vibration will be transmitted to the jammed friction pairs, which will reduce the frictional force.
