Communism: what is this - the bright future of mankind or a catastrophe?

This is one of the most difficult topics in the history of the development of human civilization. The best minds of mankind can not answer the question: "Communism: what is the main path to progress or a global systemic catastrophe?" There can not be a single opinion here. And the existing points of view are diametrically opposed and sharply controversial. But let us turn to the history of the question.

Communism - what is it? Looking back

This process of social thought began in post-feudal Europe. During the period of intensive development of capitalism, the working people were subjected to cruel exploitation by the owners of the means of production. It was at this time that the leading thinkers and philosophers thought about not only comprehending the world, but also actively transforming the existing system in the interests of the oppressed majority of the population. To all who are really interested in the answer to the question: "Communism - what is this?" - You should simply read the Manifesto of the Communist Party of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, published in 1848 . This brochure summarizes the plan for the reorganization of the world on the basis of communist principles. This theory had a strong influence on the course of very many historical processes. But most of all it suffered from Russia.

Soviet communism

All the theoretical constructs of European thinkers found their embodiment precisely in our homeland. After the revolution of 1917 , power in Russia was seized and usurped by one party that declared itself the representative of the will of the majority of the Russian population. They were Bolsheviks, they cruelly suppressed the resistance of their power in the civil war. They began to build in Russia what was indicated in the theoretical works of Marx, Engels, and Lenin. They did not have a choice of means to achieve their goal, except for the bloody suppression of everything that stood in their way. The policy of communism in the USSR was totalitarian. Everything was subordinated to the will of the Kremlin leaders. The Soviet Union has made great strides in building the industrial base of the economy, in science and culture. But an unacceptable price was paid for it. The society of real socialism was a leveling system, where the person was not interested in the results of his labor activity. Labor productivity was very low. It is in the nature of things that a person can work well only for himself and for his family, but not for parasites that point the way to a happy future from above. This mainly and predetermined the catastrophe of communist ideas in the Soviet Union. Soviet communism lost in the competitive struggle against Western market capitalism. He left a rather heavy inheritance. Obsolete industrial infrastructure, ruined agriculture, environmental damage from predatory looting of natural resources. And most importantly - a great devastation in the minds of a significant part of the population, which lumpenized and lost the ability to work creatively. These are the results of the historical path. But for a long time there will still be controversy over the question: "Communism - what is this?"
