Comedones - it's the trouble of both young and old!

Comedones are a kind of cyst that forms on the skin of the face and body. Most often they are found on the nose, cheeks, forehead and chin. Especially often they are noted in people suffering from acne. In medicine, comedones are divided into two groups: closed (white acne formations) and open (black dots). If blackheads are absolutely painless and, as a rule, small, then white rashes are very painful and reach 5 mm in diameter.

Comedones are formations in the pores, consisting mainly of deadened epithelial cells, various kinds of contaminants and sebum. Sebum is a fatty substance that is formed as a result of the secretion of the sebaceous glands. When interacting with air, this secret, as well as various pigments, darkens, resulting in the formation of black dots. Unlike them, closed comedones are flesh-colored, as their contents remain under a thin layer of skin cells.

It must be remembered that comedones are, first of all, pathological formations. They appear in the event that the sebum can not come out. In doing so, it accumulates in the pores, thereby clogging them. Against this background, the inflammatory process may begin. The thing is that toxins leave the pores of the blood and lymphatic vessels, they react with the sebaceous cork formed there. As a result, a viscous adhesive mass is formed, which serves as an excellent nutrient medium for various pathological bacteria and fungi.

Comedones - this is a problem not only for adolescents, but also for people of mature age. Here are just some of the signs that indicate the possibility of their appearance:

- dry, easily inflamed skin;

- enlarged pores;

- dull or rough skin;

- excess skin sebaceous secret, especially on the forehead, chin and nose.

Closed comedones on the cheeks and forehead, of course, are less noticeable than black dots, but still they must be treated. The cosmetologist appoints complex treatment depending on the reasons which have caused education of an inflammation on the face. Sometimes it is very difficult to establish which kind of disturbance in the body's work has provoked the formation of comedones, so a number of laboratory studies are assigned. The bacterial culture is most often carried out. With its help determine the sensitivity of bacteria to certain types of antibiotics. Only after this medication is prescribed.

Treatment also involves the use of ointments. The most effective are those that contain alpha hydroxy acids. Glycerin creams are also well established, which actively promote the discovery of comedones and the elimination of their contents. For treatment, tetracycline is often prescribed.

In general, answering the question about how to remove comedones, you can recommend an intensive face cleaning. This is easy to achieve by repeated washing with the use of normal soap. It is necessary to minimize the contact of hair with the face, for example, to make a bun or tail. Do not touch your face often with your hands. Masks of green and blue clay help a lot.
